In September of 2024, I joined a GetAway Vaca group and did an Avalon cruise on the Douro River in Portugal. It was full of beautiful scenery and interesting excursions! As a post excursion, we flew to Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands. What a packed full three days we had there. We had a great tour guide who gave us a great introduction to Tenerife! I definitely want to go back!

In December of 2023, I went on Collette’s Northern Lights of Finland trip. We flew into Helsinki and spent two nights there. Then we flew to Lapland and went to our resort. We had such a great time! The resort was beautiful! During our stay we slept in an igloo one night and a lovely cabin the other nights. An upgrade was available to stay in a larger cabin that had a partial glass roof to watch for the Northern Lights. The first night, our tour guide took us (by bus) to a dark area away from all of the lights. We were excited when we saw the Northern lights! Other highlights were: feeding and petting reindeer, driving and riding on a dog sled, a reindeer pulled sleigh ride and visiting with Santa! If you don’t mind the cold, I highly recommend this trip. (The resort offers warm clothing for guests if needed.)

The month of May has been designated Travel Advisor month. To celebtate, I will be posting some of my favorite photos from some of my travels. In March I did a River Cruise on the Rhône River in France. I spent two nights at the end of the cruise with some friends in Paris. The first pictures I am posting are some of the sights we saw in Paris.
