Welcome to the official page of the community known as the Sanctuary of the Great Lakes, where we highlight the 4-county region of NE Lower MI, including Presque Isle, Alpena, Alcona, and Montmorency. The historic Michigan port city of Alpena is nestled between a vast forest and an endless clear blue bay on Lake Huron.

to our previous interactive floral displays from Downtown Alpena's Flower Festival! 🌸

Over the years, we've created unique experiences that invite visitors and locals to step in, explore, and capture unforgettable memories.

🌺 In 2023, festival-goers enjoyed our charming kayak-themed photo opportunity featuring vibrant floral arrangements and a glimpse of Little Red in the backdrop outside of Soaps & Such (formerly Cedar & Threads).

πŸͺ» In 2024, we transformed Bay View Park into an enchanted storybook setting, where visitors could stroll through a whimsical, floral fairy-tale experience.

🚣 In 2025, we elevated the experience with a collection of canoes suspended at Bay View Park, creating a fun, group-friendly immersive display framed by the stunning waters of Lake Huron.

And we're not done yet! Stay tuned as we partner with Netta's and prepare this year's floral installation at Culligan Plaza!🌷(Hint: think lazy river flower explosion!)
