We offer assistance with Activities of Daily Living (dressing, bathing etc), dementia care programs and Hospice. Respite and Day Care are also available. We actively participate in fund raising activities (lodge events and Walk to End Alzheimer's) to fund research to find a cure for this debilitating disease that robs us of our loved ones. A gentle touch, a patient heart, and a little kindness can make all the difference.

In dementia and elderly care, the smallest acts often mean the most.

To every caregiver who shows up with love, your kindness matters. šŸ¤

Refusal isn't always stubbornness. Your loved one may feel overwhelmed, confused, uncomfortable, or simply not ready.

Pause and stay calm. Give them time, then try again if it's safe.

In dementia care, every person deserves to be treated with patience, dignity, respect, and genuine human connection. It’s not about being above someone or simply ā€œtaking care ofā€ them. It’s about walking alongside them, listening, understanding, and meeting them where they are.

ā€œYou can’t pour from an empty cup.ā€

You don’t have to wait until you’re overwhelmed to ask for help.

Maybe you need a few hours to yourself.
Maybe you need someone to share the responsibility.
Maybe you simply need to say, ā€œI can’t do this alone right now.ā€

That isn’t weakness. It’s recognizing that you matter, too.

If caregiving is becoming too much, Alpine View Lodge is here to help. Reach out to learn about support and care options for your loved one.

There’s a surprising new clue. Could aspirin play a role in dementia prevention?

A new analysis of more than 13,500 older adults found that daily low-dose aspirin was associated with a 70% lower relative risk of dementia among people with a particular genetic profile related to platelet count. However, serious bleeding was also more common in this group.

Researchers say the finding needs to be confirmed in further studies. This does not mean people should start taking aspirin to prevent dementia. Always talk with a doctor before starting daily aspirin.

Sometimes the hardest part of dementia care is knowing when ā€œindependenceā€ needs to look different.

A loved one may still seem perfectly capable, but dementia can quietly affect judgment, awareness of danger, and the ability to get home safely.

If your family is navigating this stage of dementia care, Alpine View Lodge is here to help. Reach out to learn more or schedule a tour.
