The first ever Women's Fly-Fishing Club was founded in 1932 in New York by Julia Freeman Fairchild, who later went on to join the National Board of Trout Unlimited. Starting with just thirty-five members, these women helped pave the way for a future of empowering women and girls to get outside and become stewards of our rivers and watersheds.

Our Story:

I received my first fly rod as a Christmas gift from my parents at the age of twelve; a seven foot fiberglass Fenwick that I still cherish today and even use once in a while. Over forty years later, I have now refined my skills a bit and guide clients in southwestern New Hampshire and southeastern Vermont. As a science teacher for almost 25 years, merging my passion for the outdoors and specifically fly fishing with my teaching experience led me to start Cold River Guide Service.
