🔥 IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN. 🔥

Once a year, we put together our biggest all-day ride — and this one means a little more.

The Northwoods ADV Cancer Ride is coming.

This isn’t just another Saturday ride. It’s a full day on the bikes, a chance to ride some great New Hampshire terrain with a bunch of good people, and most importantly, a chance to raise some money and make a difference for people fighting cancer.

🏍️ Dual Sport • ADV • EZ.ADV routes

There’s a route for just about everyone:

EZ.ADV — Self-guided and self-rescue, with multiple route options ranging from roughly 50–150 miles. Expect mostly dirt roads with some very gentle off-road riding. Moderate, accessible, and a great way to spend the day exploring on your own.

DUAL SPORT + ADV — Guided all-day rides for those looking to put in some serious miles and have some fun. These are the bigger rides of the day, with approximately 8 hours of riding once you add in fuel, breaks, lunch, and everything else that comes with a full day in the woods.

Lunch stop included with the guided rides. Food and beverages are on the riders.

And we’re not stopping at the ride.

NWADV is a community built around Northwood’s ADV rides, routes, and the riders who enjoy exploring them together.

We ride open, legal roads and share a mix of approachable dual-sport routes and more challenging adventures. More than the routes themselves, the Hub is about the people, the experiences, and the communities we visit along the way.

We value helping one another, supporting local businesses, respecting other road users, and leaving every place a little better than we found it.

NORTHWOODS ADV TOURING

COME SEE THE WORST OF NEW HAMPSHIRE.

And we’re not talking about Nashua or Rochester.

We’re talking about the other places.

The forgotten forest roads.
The trails nobody bothers maintaining anymore.
The bridges that inspire a quick second opinion.
The places where Google Maps gives up and your phone becomes a very expensive camera.

Cell service?
Probably not.

Emergency access?
Let’s not dwell on that.

Scenic?
Absolutely.

A terrible idea?
Occasionally.

Our guided tours take you deep into the parts of New Hampshire that most people drive right past—or wisely decide not to drive through at all.

Expect rocks, roots, mud, water, washed-out roads, forgotten roads, questionable crossings and scenery that makes every scratch on your motorcycle seem completely worth it.

DOG DAYS OF SUMMER — 120 MILES OF DIRT, DUST & TEACHING MOMENTS

Today’s Breakfast Club ride was one of our more challenging routes — just shy of the hardest stuff we generally host. We ran the majority of the tougher sections downhill, but make no mistake, they were still no walk in the park.

We started the morning the right way at Northwood Diner, filling the high top with riders, breakfast, and the usual pre-ride BS before heading out at 9 AM toward our version of the Strafford Loop. (Note the efficient parking 🤙)

About 120 miles later, five hours of riding, a few bailouts well past the halfway point, and plenty of smiles, we had ourselves one hell of a ride.

We had a great mix of experienced riders and newer riders today, including a father-daughter team with less than 100 hours of riding time as a team. Dad brought plenty of motorcycle experience to the table, and both of them are mechanically minded, which definitely showed once we got into the woods.

Everyone brought something today.

Chad deserves some serious credit for tackling the route on a lowered KLX230. Our resident old guy on the sport bike somehow continues to make the rest of us question our life choices. The veterans set a great pace and offered plenty of examples of how to get through the tougher stuff, and the newer riders stepped up and held their own.

And then there was Emma, who may have earned herself today’s Bucking Bronco Award.

A few times she picked exactly the right line, only to get bounced or nudged somewhere she probably hadn’t planned on going. OSHA might call those near misses.

We call them teaching moments.

She handled the falls, the bike, and the occasional bruised ego better than plenty of new riders we’ve had along for the ride. Good clutch work, confidence, enthusiasm, and the right attitude. Keep practicing, Emma. You’re going to go far.

And that’s really the point of days like today.

Nobody rides a challenging route for five hours without learning something. Sometimes you learn from your own mistakes. Sometimes you learn by watching the guy in front of you. Sometimes you learn that the line you thought was going to work absolutely wasn’t going to work.

And sometimes you learn that knowing when to turn around and call it a day is just as important as making it through.

There were a few minor dings, a couple bruised egos, and a whole lot of experience gained today. That’s a pretty good trade for a Sunday on a motorcycle.

The Breakfast Club is built around exactly that.

Every weekend we get together and ride. Some weeks are easy. Some are challenging. Sometimes we have multiple groups, different paces, or completely different directions. Anybody can lead, anybody can organize a ride, and the route can change from week to week.

The goal is simple: get people off the pavement, into the dirt, and comfortable enough to keep exploring.

Learn to navigate a GPX route. Learn your bike. Build confidence. Find your people. Ride safely. And eventually, become the person helping the next new rider through the section that used to scare you.

Today was a damn good example of that.

Great job, everybody. Thanks for coming out, putting in the work, and making the Breakfast Club what it is.

And Emma — don’t let that Bucking Bronco award go to your head.

WE’RE BACK. 🏁

Sorry we’ve been a little out of office for the past few weeks. Things got quiet around here, but we’re getting ready to fire things back up.

Rides, events, and the calendar are coming back online soon. We’ve got a few things in the works, including our annual Cancer Ride in October, and we’re hoping to make it out to the Field & Forest Foliage Ride in western NH this year too.

But before we start filling the calendar, what do YOU want to ride?

Big days?
Short evening rides?
Breakfast Club-sized groups?
Technical dual sport?
EZ ADV?
Big bike shenanigans?
Camping trips?
Something completely different?

We’ve got a pretty wide range of bikes, riders, skill levels, and available time around here, so there’s no reason we can’t put together a little bit of everything.

And then there’s this…

I’ve been sticking NW.ADV stickers in some pretty cool places lately. This one made it all the way to the Top of the World Highway in the Yukon, with a few others scattered around Chicken.

I’d like to start collecting photos of NW.ADV out in the wild and eventually turn them into a giant collage/background for the page.

So let’s make it a thing.

Post a photo of your NW.ADV sticker out on an adventure.
Roadside, summit, campsite, trailhead, wherever.

For now, there’s nothing fancy to win except some serious internet glory—and maybe a handful of stickers for whoever makes us laugh, travels the farthest, or finds the coolest place to slap one.
