It's a big day today in Downtown Alton and we hope you'll join us!

From 8am-12pm the Alton Farmers' & Artisans' Market takes place at the corner of Henry Street and Landmarks Blvd. You can select the freshest seasonal fruit and veg, pick up farm made cheeses and local eggs, peruse hand made crafts from local artisans, and enjoy hot breakfast and coffee from a variety of vendors.

Nine PBS welcomes you to the Alton Amphitheater from 9:30-Noon for a morning full of interactive crafts, games, and playful learning activities that spark creativity and curiosity! Kiddos can meet their favorite PBS KIDS characters, including Daniel Tiger, Elinor, and Nature Cat, complete with high fives and photo opportunities. We love that they’re including nature-focused activities that highlight the wildlife and ecosystems of the Mississippi River. Don’t miss this special occasion on the riverfront!

Then at Noon hop on over to the Alton Dog Park and pick up your passport for the Pup Crawl (That's a Pub Crawl + Dogs!) that runs from 12-8pm today! You and your fuzzy friends will enjoy 22 participating locations with special and treats at every stop.

This week, we are hosting the Alton Community School District #11 for our tour, “The Abolitionists of Alton.” We are incredibly proud to have this opportunity to highlight the historical significance of our city. During this experience, we genuinely hope the students will develop a sense of pride for what was achieved during this time period in Alton, IL.

Our company was established in 1992 but changed hands in 2020 when we purchased it from my mother, Marlene. Our initial thought was that one day we would have the opportunity to host students and provide them with a chance to truly understand the city in which they live. Knowing how powerful our history is, I truly believe we can create a vision for a bright future. We thank Alton School District for the opportunity and their willingness to think outside the box for education!

🎄 Next Saturday 12/20 will be our 11th annual Tunes For Toys fundraising event at Post Commons. This event is family friendly with all ages welcomed. Alton Symphony Orchestra will be bringing their quartet to play from 7-9pm. Deck the Town will be announcing the winners of their local Christmas decorations competition! We will be donating all of the toys to The Salvation Army of Madison County, IL to help bring happiness to those families in need this year. All cash donations will be going to Faces Not Forgotten. Please consider shopping local for this event at Funky Planet Toys & Gifts. We truly hope everyone will consider giving this year in one way or another. Help those in need, be kind to others, and Happy Holidays to all!

Only a couple tickets left for our last prohibition tour of the year! To celebrate we are having a two ticket giveaway. This Saturday join us on our final Prohibition Tour of 2025! Alton Odyssey Tours is excited to announce our partnership with to bring characters of the Roaring Twenties to life. We’ll travel to locations affected by the death of John Barleycorn and meet some of the people most impacted by his demise. This tour includes stops at five different locations and concludes with a celebration to the end of prohibition.

⁣Our Bare Bones tour is preparing to enter the vacant Stratford Hotel. As they pass by Athena, they will be welcomed in the lobby by a solitary baby grand piano. Our tours provide an in-depth exploration of the building’s history and the haunting experiences it offers. Enjoy the evening of activity, and we look forward to reconnecting with the spirits in 2026.⠀

Happy Halloween! 🎃 We are incredibly thankful for the 2025 haunted tour season! We will finish things off with our final night tomorrow with our Bare Bones and Withcing Hour haunted trolley tours (couple of Witching Hour tickets available).

Go see Spiritual Advisor Becca tonight at local venue The Conservatory before Alton’s Halloween parade marches down Broadway! So appreciative to be in a growing city that has amazing locals supporting what Alton has to offer! 🥂

This weekend and Nov. 1st is the final round of tours for our 2025 haunted season. We have a few tickets left for our final Haunted Craft Beer Walks sampling throughout the city on Friday, a final Saturday night walking experience as we take you Behind The Bricks, and late night haunted trolley tours (Witching Hour) available this Saturday and Nov.1st. Our Bare Bones has sold out for the year and we couldn’t be more grateful for the support! Visit our merch table for custom designed Hoodies and T-shirts! We will have these and prints available at our tours, retail store, and online coming soon. So thankful to be “Haunting you since 92” and being trusted to highlight the amazing city of Alton!

These walks, hosted by Alton Odyssey Tours get you an exclusive peek into several of Alton’s historic and haunted locations. New this year, you’ll get a look at the upper floors of the brewery! Join Alton Odyssey Tours for an interactive ghost hunt while learning about the once large scale operations of Colonial Bakery, and enjoy a sample of Old Bakery Beer at every stop!
