We are back in the Northeast corner of Florida again this week with Road Scholar Program 11603: History & Ecology: Okefenokee Swamp, Amelia & Cumberland Islands. Today is Day 3 of the program. This morning our group had a history presentation on the 8 flags of Fernandina followed by an expert led trolley excursion through the historic district of Amelia Island. The group is at Fort Clinch this afternoon and we will end the day with an ecology presentation at our hotel. Tomorrow we learn from a local expert about the sh*****ng industry and then take a river cruise around Amelia Island with commentary. Thursday, we head to the Okefenokee Swamp.

Alongside naturalists, discover the idyllic landscapes and unique wildlife of the Barrier Islands and Okefenokee Swamp. Plus, visit historic towns and learn about Civil War history.

Last day in Charleston today for our December 5-16 Program 20644: Coastal Journey group. Tomorrow, we head to Savannah, Ga. where we will be over the weekend. Then it's off to Jekyll Island, Ga. and finally St. Augustine, Fl. This is a great adventure down the Southern coast!
