It's almost go-time for the first 🚚 trip of the 2023 season; the Gardner, MA Centennial Parade on Sunday, September 17 at 1:00PM.

Remember that time in 2013 we went to New York City and were in the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade? No? Thankfully, YouTube remembers.

What YouTube doesn’t remember is when the trucks got pulled into an NYPD truck inspection station on the way into NYC; and the NYPD Officer and the BandTruckers were bewildered by the empty box truck that was supposed to be full of uniforms. Later, we learned that the “Uniform truck” was to transport the uniforms back to Amherst, not from Amherst.

It made for a few moments of panic, confusion, and contingency planning, but, more importantly, over 8 years of laughs when we remember this story.

If you have to travel today, be careful. Increase your following distance, decrease your speed, and avoid sudden turns of the wheel when possible.

The UMass Area is at a 3 Slices alert level; whereas eastern Mass is at a 5 Slices alert level.

Now it's Go Time, yes, 5 Slices/Severe. Harv is calling for 2+ feet of snow across the Greater French Toast Area, high winds, the whole shebang. And as the National Weather Service says, this storm will bombo its genesis so hard it could form an eye. So clear out the trunk, get yourself to the store and give other shoppers the long stare as you head straight for the milk, bread and eggs (and syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg, just in case).

A good safety reminder for everyone this winter. Remove ice and snow, not just from your entire windshield, but also from the roof, hood, trunk, and sides of your vehicle. Be safe out there!

Friendly reminder to clean your windshield and remove all snow from your vehicle. Mass general law requires motorists to have an unobstructed view and remove all snow from your vehicle. Please drive safely!

With Tropical Storm/Hurricane Henri approaching; expect the possibility for high winds, downed trees, power outages, heavy rainfall, and flooding. See the linked safety tips for more info. Be safe everyone.

Both Tropical Storms (with winds above 39 mph) and Hurricanes (winds above 74 mph) can have deadly coastal storm surge and cause significant damage.
