What to See in JC Saturday, June 13th , 2026 & Sunday, June 14th 2026:
Saturday-
Jones County Safe and Healthy Youth Coalition Be Courageous 5k Walk- 12007 190th St, Monticello, IA- Registration begins at 7am- $30 per participant day of price- Same day packet pick up and registration are from 7-7:45 a.m. and the Race is at 8 am! Park in lot across from the Durgin Pavilion. The race will be timed by B & W Racing again with chips on bibs.
Day before packet pickup will be at the Anamosa Chamber Office (203 East Main) on Friday, the 12th, from 8–10 AM and 5–7 PM. There will be a new 5K path this year without the loops, but still with the fun hills at the beginning, utilizing the road that will be temporarily blocked off from thru traffic.
Monticello Iowa Farmers Market- Willow Pavillion- Open from 8am-11am- Stop out and enjoy a variety of goodies from locals and small businesses.
Anamosa Farmers Market- Next to the Casey’s on Main St. – From 8am-12pm- Stop out and enjoy a variety of goodies
Birding Event- 12515 Central Park Rd. Center Junction, Ia- Join the Iowa Young Birders, Monticello Parks & Recreation, and Jones County Conservation, from 9:00–11:00 AM
We'll get an up-close look at the Central Park Martin Colony and explore several trails in Central Park to discover the birds that call the park home.

Annie's Treasures- 202 Grant St. SW Cascade- From 9am-4pm- This beautiful old 1800’s brick church has the best little treasurers and is fun to walk through.
Anamosa Penitentiary Museum- 406 N High St. Anamosa, IA- Open 12-4pm- Stop out and tour this old barn & cheese factory building made out of Stone City Stone. Small museum but worth the tour that includes an old cell, infamous inmates wall, items inmates have created over the years, history or wardens, video of how it came to be and the building of the prison and so much more! Great $3 donation and it even has a souvenir shop.

Lubben Vineyards & Wines- 13504 Hwy 151, Anamosa, IA- From 10am-7pm- Come out and enjoy some wine, flatbread pizza, wine slushies, beer, Pepsi products and more!
Cascade Summer Bash- Area Chamber of Commerce Riverview Park- The event is free, and all beverage tips go directly to supporting Cascade Fire & EMS, with a special first responder appreciation on stage at 4:00 PM.

Scotch Grove Country Church- 95th Ave. Scotch Grove, IA- 4pm- Beautiful church building that offers a Non-denominational service twice a month with different speakers and musicians. peaker Isabelle Shepherd and musician Kayla Kauder.

The WY Saloon- 127 west Main Street , Wyoming, IA- This is a great little hidden gem that has a variety of food, tables, bar, booths & a great place to wind down and bring a date, family, friends or neighbors. They have great food, drinks and people!

Grant Wood Art Gallery- 124 E Main St. Anamosa- Open 11am-3pm- Stop out and learn about Grant Wood and the history he has in Anamosa. The table in the center of the Gallery was designed by Grant Wood himself! Come out and learn more about this great Anamosa Artist!
