If you have trouble reaching us, it’s probably because we’re hanging out at The Musk Ox Farm obsessing over these babies!

We try not to badger you with cute musk ox photos but... Jörd would like everyone to meet her baby, Otter!!

Otter was born in the morning of Friday April 25th. Mom and baby are both doing 𝑜𝓍some!

Katmai has done it again! 𝓞𝔁cellent job Katmai.

Though the earliest known celebration of International Women’s Day took place in 1909, it wasn’t until 1975 that it was officially recognized by the UN. This German poster was banned by the German Empire in its time.
As a woman-owned business we know the fight isn’t over, but we have endless gratitude for the woman who came before us and paved the way to get us where we are today!
Happy International Women’s Day!

Hey friends!

Please keep these things in mind as you plan your trip to Alaska. Our National Parks and wonders are one of the biggest things that draw people to our beautiful state and their ability to operate as usual is at risk right now. That doesn’t mean you should cancel your trip, but it does mean that you should leave some flexibility in your schedule and get comfortable with idea that you might have to pivot your plans.
As a small business, these cuts aren’t directly affecting us, but we are dealing with some of the blow back as folks have canceled their trips due to the uncertainty of everything. If our bookings don’t pick up enough, we may be forced to close two days a week so I can pick up a part time job to “keep the lights on”.
If you already have a trip planned and have questions, or you’re still in the planning stage and need assistance from someone with local perspective, feel free to reach out. I am forever grateful to every single one of you that has supported my small business and helped us grow! Keep shopping local and supporting small businesses!

NOTICE TO ALL TRAVELERS HEADED TO JUNEAU SUMMER 2025 Please be advised that the recent federal cuts have trimmed staff at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center (MGVC) to a single person. We don’t know at this time whether the visitors center or the

*is* history and deserves to be honored and celebrated.

Did you know that Bessie Couture was the first black business owner in Alaska? She open her restaurant “The Kitchen” in Skagway in 1897 during the Klondike Gold Rush and was one of the very few women in the early 1900s to own her own home. We don’t know a lot about her, but follow the link below for more information!

Hi friends.

First of all, I did not write the article, but the author articulated my feelings on he matter very well.

Most of you who follow this business are aware that I, the owner, am a q***r woman. I have no intention of turning this into a political page, but I also refuse to pretend to be anything I’m not and I will always stand on my principles over profit. I’m not a fan of the current administration and I’m not a fan of trying to rename Denali. I know this might seem trivial to some, but to me, it’s not. We are on Native land and I will always respect that to the best of my ability.

**Please note that if any guest is ever intentionally disrespectful to ANY marginalized group, we reserve the right to end their tour immediately, regardless of location. I believe strongly in freedom of speech *and* being held accountable for things we say. It’s in the participation waiver.

All that being said… I’m super excited to get out there and show people more Alaska! If you’re down for hearing more about uncomfortable topics like the homelessness crisis in our city, or how climate change is affecting everyone’s lives throughout the state, I’m your lady!

Don't be confused: renaming Alaska's Great One, Denali, is propoganda at its finest, driven by a man obsessed with legacy.

The are blooming!
Not only do these flowers naturally beautify the road side, they also serve a purpose! Lupines are a legume (though we don’t recommend eating them as this variety is poisonous), and help fix nitrogen levels in the soil. They are excellent pollinators and these Nootka Lupine are hardy perennials that come back every year.
It’s a gift that keeps on giving!

Four babies!!! I repeat FOUR BABIES!!!! We got so lucky to see all four this morning and we’ve got another tour going out to the farm at 2 pm tomorrow (Friday, May 31st) if you haven’t gotten to see these precious calves.

🥚🥚OXtra OXtra! MUSKTASTIC News! 🥚🥚 Introducing Sunny (sunny side up), our hatchling #4. This little girl decided to make her debut Friday afternoon, making a busy tour day even more OXciting.

Osprey is a great first-time-mom! Just like dad Larch, Sunny has a white face and likes to express herself vocally.
