Alaska is home to approximately 30,000 bald eagles—more than any other state in the U.S. These majestic birds thrive here due to the state's abundant fish supply and expansive, undisturbed habitats. From the coastal rainforests of Southeast Alaska to the river valleys of the Interior, eagles are a common yet awe-inspiring sight.

📍 Top Viewing Spots:

Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve near Haines: Witness the world's largest congregation of bald eagles, especially during the late fall salmon runs.

Homer Spit: A hotspot where eagles are often seen scavenging along the shoreline.

Kenai River: Offers frequent sightings, particularly during salmon spawning seasons.

📸 Travel Tip: Bring binoculars or a zoom lens to capture these birds in action.
