It’s the first Monday after we officially moved out of our warehouse, and I have to say I feel a little…lost 🤷🏻‍♀️

No orders to ship, very few emails to respond to, no Slack notifications, no mailman to catch. Adjusting to “life after startup” is going to be, well, an adjustment.

I wanted to share a brief update with you all. For the record, a Facebook caption cannot do this justice.

Heather’s Choice is winding-down operations between now and January 31st.

We’re working hard to fulfill all open orders and making our remaining inventory available. You may notice that products are not being restocked as we work through this process.

This was a thoughtful and intentional decision, also not an easy one.

I’m incredibly proud of what we built together over the years — the products, the brand, and the community you’re all a part of.

Today is my birthday, and I’ve been thinking a lot about what’s changed for me in the last eleven years (woah!) of running Heather’s Choice.

When I started this company, I thought it would just be about making food. Cook meals, scoop Packaroons, send them on epic adventures, repeat. Simple, right?

Instead, it’s been one of the most intense, humbling, and beautiful experiences of my life.

Over the last eleven years, Heather’s Choice has changed me in more ways than I can count:

💪🏼 Resilience looks different now

I used to think strength meant just muscling through. Now I know it’s also knowing when to ask for help, when to pivot, and most importantly, when to rest.

💌 Customers became people I care about

I recognize your name on orders. I remember emails from folks who took our meals on their first backpacking trip, their thru-hike, their honeymoon, their recovery journey. You’re not just an order number to me – you’re part of why this business still exists.

👩🏻‍💻 Adventure isn’t just outside

Yes, I still love a good backcountry suffer-fest and sleeping under the stars, but building this brand, making payroll, figuring out new products, surviving hard seasons… that’s its own kind of expedition.

We’re officially in the thick of holiday season; cue the nonstop Christmas music, plenty of parties, and flannel pajamas (no judgment here).

I wanted to take a moment to say, “Thank you!” for continuously showing us your support, now for more than a decade!

To be frank 2025 has been really, really hard. Not just for me, but for many of the small business owners I know. Whether it’s Capital T for tariffs, or economic uncertainty, or the five million other things that hit you when you’re running a small business... it’s just been a grind.

But through all of it, your support has meant everything. It always brightens my day to see orders from YOU! 🤩
