This Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Did you know Shadyside Memorial Park in Anderson, IN, began as a private park for Union Traction Company employees in 1897? The City of Anderson purchased the park in 1923, dedicated it to Madison County's war veterans, and opened it to the public on July 4 of that year.

More than 100 years later, its name continues to honor their service and sacrifice.
