Emergency rooms across the country are seeing an alarming trend regarding tick bites this spring. For three consecutive weeks, visits to U.S. hospitals for tick bites surpassed totals from the same time periods over the last decade, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Ticks can spread bacteria that cause life-threatening diseases, such as Lyme disease, which has been on the rise in Michigan.
