Our neighbors celebrating 5 years! 🎉🎉🎉 We LOVE North Shore Cafe!

North Shore Café owners Colleen and Scott Geller celebrated their café’s fifth anniversary on Feb. 15. “We started the business five years ago, right before the pandemic. We’ve gone through a pandemic and a hurricane or two. We love it and it’s been a lot of fun,” Colleen said a few days before the anniversary date. As for the current, post-hurricane conditions, she said, “Things are going well. Almost our entire staff came back and our kids are old enough now to help with the rebuilding. We were really fortunate.” Located at 304 Pine Ave. in Anna Maria and open for breakfast and lunch, the North Shore Café is known for its Acai bowls and other healthy menu offerings that include sugar-free smoothies and protein drinks, bread and baked goods freshly baked in Tampa and more. “Everything’s made to order; and if we don’t make it ourselves, we have great local partners that make it fresh for us,” Scott said. The business also includes an adjacent retail shop that offers hats, T-shirts and sweatshirts featuring originally-designed graphics. “Scott used to work in fashion, so this is his passion project.” Colleen said of the retail operations.

We are pleased to announce that Rum Cove is back up and open for guests! During the repair time, we had the opportunity to have our new sea wall installed and we could not be happier about this new upgrade! We feel it has rejuvenated that side of the house into a more usable space. We upgraded the floating dock and added a ladder for a more easy way to launch the paddle boards and kayak. We also added a hammock and more seating will be coming soon.

We are excited to enter this New Year a bit more refreshed and look forward to seeing our guests make many more memories at Rum Cove. Here is to a prosperous 2025 🥂🎊

We just wanted to share a few updated photos of the work we are doing at Rum Cove. Pool has been cleaned and new drywall and wood are up on the walls. Painting has begun! We are so thankful for all the help we have received! We will keep you updated!

Here we go again! Round two! We have made great progress in clean up from Helene, lets pray ol' Milton will lose steam. 🙏🙏

We did receive some bruises along Helene's path but we are hard at work bringing Rum Cove back to life! We aren't gonna let her get us down! We will get cleaned up and ready for our wonderful guests to return! Thanks for all the well wishes and love. 🫶

Our beautiful Island took a drastic blow from Helene with widespread damage. We can't help but think of all the wonderful people affected by this event, and we lift each and every one up in prayer. The road to recovery might be long but our spirits will still be high.

Once we get some boots on the ground to assess the damage to Rum Cove, we will update. 🙏

Rum Cove is located on the North End of Anna Maria, just north of the famous Pine Ave! It is located on a canal so you can take a short paddle board or kayak ride into the bay. If your lucky, you just might spot a manatee or dolphin swimming by! 🐬🐠🦀
