If you’re planning your first international trip, here are a few things I always encourage people to think about beforehand:

→ Don’t choose a hotel based on star rating alone. A beautiful hotel that’s far from the areas you actually want to spend time in can completely change how the trip feels.

→ More destinations doesn’t always mean a better trip. Trying to fit too much into a short amount of time usually sounds better in theory than it feels in reality.

→ Give yourself some grace on arrival day. Jet lag, long flights, and travel days hit differently than people expect—especially internationally.

→ When you’re booking flights, pay attention to the routing, not just the price. Tight international connections and complicated airport transfers can add a lot of unnecessary stress.

→ And probably the biggest one: not every “top 10” itinerary on the internet is going to be the right fit for *you.*

The best trips are the ones designed around your travel style, your priorities, and how you actually want the experience to feel.

That’s one of my favorite parts of helping first-time international travelers—making the whole process feel a little less overwhelming, and a lot more exciting.

Planning a trip abroad? Don't forget to plan ahead for your passport.

Here's what to know before you travel.

✖️ Don't wait until the last minute to renew. Most countries require your passport to be valid for at least 6 months beyond your return trip date.

✅ Do check current passport processing times. Processing can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months depending on the season. Expedited processing exists but it's not instant.

✅ Do double-check exactly what documents you need — especially if you're traveling with kids. Children's passports require some additional steps and documentation.

✖️ Don't assume a passport is all you need. Some destinations require additional visas, entry forms, or authorizations that need to be arranged in advance. This is not the thing you want to discover at the airport.

✅ Do work with a travel advisor who helps you with all of this — so the only thing you're thinking about before your trip is what to pack.

Save this — and send it to someone who needs it. 👇

If you're looking for the perfect slice of paradise, look no further than the Seychelles. 🌴

The Seychelles are what you see on every postcard. The beaches here are nothing short of stunning and rank as some of the very best in the world (looking at you Anse Source d'Argent).

Time seems to slow down a little bit here.

We loved exploring each of the islands -- Mahe, Praslin, and La Digue -- each a little bit different but all with out of this world beaches, granite landscapes, hiking trails and nature spots, and delicious fresh seafood.

The Seychelles is an easy addition after your African safari trip.

A lot of the things that make a trip feel incredible aren’t the flashy, over-the-top upgrades people usually picture when they hear “luxury travel.”

They’re the smaller decisions that completely change how the trip feels while you’re actually in it.

Like landing after an overnight flight and already having someone waiting for you at the airport instead of trying to figure out rideshares, directions, and logistics while exhausted.

Or booking the room that gives you the space, quiet, and atmosphere that actually lets you relax after a full day of exploring.

Or having a private guide who helps you experience a destination more deeply instead of spending half the day navigating maps and tickets on your phone.

Most people don’t realize how much these things matter until they travel without them.

And honestly, not every upgrade is worth it.

One of the biggest parts of what I do is helping clients figure out which details will actually improve their experience — and which ones won’t meaningfully change the trip at all.

Because the goal isn’t just a trip that looks beautiful in photos.

It’s a trip that feels easy, memorable, and enjoyable while you’re actually living it.

If you’re planning a trip and feeling overwhelmed by all the options, I’d love to help you sort through what’s truly worth it for your travel style and priorities.

Everyone says Africa is a trip to save for when your kids are older.

I just got back from (another) amazing trip through Africa with mine, and here are my insights:

→ Kids experience safari very differently than adults do. While checking off the Big Five is awesome, my kids get just as excited about baby animals, funny moments, and the unexpected little things.

→ Kids love safari days. There’s something about being outside, constantly spotting something new, and the anticipation of “what’s around the next corner?” that keep them completely engaged.

→ Africa truly has so much variety. One day we were out in nature spotting wildlife, another we were at beautiful beaches, exploring, swimming, and slowing down a little. It never felt one-note.

→ The only part that takes some thought? The pacing. Africa can involve longer drives, flights, and bigger distances than people expect, and having the right flow makes all the difference.

Traveling with kids has taught me over and over that they don’t need a trip designed for kids. They just need space to experience it in their own way.

If you've been putting off your family trip to Africa — I'd love to help you plan it right.

Wondering what our first planning call together look like?

I don't start with a form. I don't send you a questionnaire. I don't ask for your budget in the first sentence.

Instead, I want to get to know you — who you are, what your vibe is and what lights you up, your travel style and preferences. And we take the time to chat about your vision for your trip.

We'll talk about:
→ Where you've been before and what landed, and what didn't
→ Who's traveling and what each person needs from the trip — because a great trip works for everyone in the group, not just the person who planned it
→ Your trip investment, timing, and logistics
→ What "the right trip" actually feels like to you — not just the destination, but the pace, the experience, the feeling you want to come home with.

By the end of 30 minutes, I usually have a clear picture of how to build your ideal trip.

Traveling with my kids to 100+ countries hasn’t looked the way I thought it would.

We don’t always linger at the “important” sights.
Sometimes we pass through them quickly… and then spend an hour somewhere completely random.

A park. A side street. A small café with nothing special about it—except that we stayed longer than planned.

They’re not focused on checking things off.
They just experience what’s in front of them.

They’ll try something new without overthinking it.

They’ll pivot without a second thought when plans change.

They don’t really care if the day goes exactly as expected.

And somewhere along the way, I stopped needing it to.

Some of the best parts of our trips have come from letting go a little—following their lead, slowing down, and realizing the “in-between” moments are usually the ones that stay with us.

It’s not how I used to travel. But it’s probably how I’ll always travel now.

“How much does it cost to use a travel advisor to plan your vacation?”

Honestly, usually a lot less than people think. But here’s the biggest value:

→ I have access to exclusive rates, room upgrades, and perks through my partner network that simply aren’t available on Expedia or Google.

→ I save you hours (sometimes days) of research, endless comparison tabs, and the low-grade anxiety of wondering if you actually picked the right hotel, location, or itinerary.

→ And when something goes wrong—a hotel overbooks, a flight gets delayed, a connection gets missed at 11pm in a country where you don’t speak the language—I’m the one handling it. Not you.

My job is to make sure your trip feels easy, seamless, and well thought through before you ever leave home.

That’s not an extra luxury. That’s how travel planning should feel.

First consultation is always free. Link in bio. ✈️

If you’re still looking for a summer trip… this is it.

Croatia is one of those places people dream about — sunset harbors, hidden coves, and an Adriatic coastline that’s best experienced from the water.

But trying to piece it together with ferries, hotel changes, and island logistics… it adds up quickly. This is a different way to do it.

In August 2026, I have a small-group yacht week along the Dalmatian coast — where you unpack once, settle in, and wake up somewhere beautiful each day.

Think:
• swimming in crystal-clear coves you can only reach by boat
• overnight stays in historic harbor towns (not rushing in and out)
• long dinners ashore with local wine and culture
• slow mornings on deck with nowhere to be
• an itinerary designed to actually feel good, start to finish

We’re down to just a few cabins, and this trip is intentionally small.

If Croatia has been on your list, now is the time.

Comment "Croatia" for special booking incentives.

Not all rides require TSA, boarding groups, and a passport… but the good ones usually do.

Where you’re going (and how it’s planned) makes all the difference.
