Happy Wednesday!!

1. A Luxury Shift in Tulum
The Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya just launched its first all-inclusive package. It’s a huge move for a high-end Hilton brand, focusing on private plunge pools and "jungle-wrapped" wellness—perfect for clients who want luxury without the typical buffet feel.

2. Beaches Turks & Caicos Expansion
The massive $150 million Treasure Beach Village is officially open. It adds 101 new suites, including massive four-bedroom villas that sleep up to 10. This is a game-changer for our multi-generational family groups.

3. Westin’s First All-Inclusive in Mexico
The Westin Playa Vallarta has officially transitioned to an all-inclusive model. It’s keeping the focus on wellness (think Heavenly Spas and healthy dining) but with the convenience of a bundled price.

4. Hyatt Zilara Cancun Refresh
The adults-only Hyatt Zilara just finished a total renovation. They’ve added a cool 1920s-style speakeasy and a high-end Yucatecan dining concept, which is a great "bucket-list" upgrade for couples.

5. Mega-Resort Alert in Punta Cana
Moon Palace The Grand is set to open next week (June 1st). It’s a $1.5 billion project with over 2,000 rooms, its own waterpark, and a Greg Norman-designed golf course.

6. New Choice in Curaçao
TUI BLUE is opening a new 297-room resort on Curaçao’s western coast this fall. It’s very design-forward with lots of swim-up room options, which are always a hit with our Caribbean-bound clients.

7. Paradisus Cancun’s $50M Glow-Up
Paradisus has reopened with a fresh, nature-inspired look. They’ve added a "Family Concierge" service and a new splash park, making it a strong contender for those "Inclusive Traveling" family bookings.

8. Marriott’s Future Flagship
Marriott just announced plans for a massive 1,000-room all-inclusive flagship in Riviera Maya for 2027. It’s still a ways off, but definitely one for the radar for long-term planning.

9. Michelin-Starred Dining in St. Lucia
The new HQ Cas en Bas (part of the Wyndham collection) is launching this November. It’s bringing Michelin-starred dining concepts to the all-inclusive space, which is great for food-focused travelers.

10. "Destination Inclusive" Experiences
A new trend we're seeing this month is resorts including off-site excursions in the base price. Paradisus, for example, is now including private lagoon cruises as part of their standard luxury package.

Happy Monday!
Today I hope you enjoyed your weekend, and pause to remember its purpose.

For a quick summer getaway, Margaritaville at Sea is running a Memorial Day flash sale through June 2nd. They’re offering up to 50% off fares with rates starting at $59/night. On many sailings, kids sail free, and they’re throwing in complimentary stateroom upgrades—a solid win for families on a budget.

2. Norwegian Luna’s Family-Forward Debut
NCL’s newest Prima-class ship, the Norwegian Luna, is officially sailing. It’s built for multi-generational groups with a mix of top-deck thrills like climbing walls and waterslides, alongside "The Haven" for those wanting luxury butler service and private infinity pools.

3. Disney Cruise Line: 25% Off & Kids Half-Price
Disney just released a batch of special offers for 2026 sailings. You can snag up to 25% off on select dates for the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure. Even better, they have a "Kids Half Off" promo available on over 170 sail dates through October 2026.

4. Virgin Voyages Arrives in Alaska
The Brilliant Lady has officially launched her inaugural Alaska season out of Seattle. This is a big move for Virgin, focusing on culturally immersive "Happenings" rather than traditional lectures. Rates for the 7-night Inside Passage are starting around $983, including Wi-Fi and dining at 20+ restaurants.

5. Carnival’s Major Roatan Upgrade
Carnival just opened the "Mangrove Bay" pool complex at Isla Tropicale (formerly Mahogany Bay). It’s perfect for families and seniors, featuring a massive splash pad for kids, a swim-up bar for adults, and private accessible cabanas with chairlift passes for the beach.

6. MSC World America Completes First Year
The massive MSC World America is proving to be a favorite for international multi-generational travelers. With themed districts and Broadway-style shows, it’s operating heavily in the Caribbean with stops at their private Ocean Cay Marine Reserve.

7. Atlas Ocean Voyages: Explorer’s Choice Incentives
For clients looking for a smaller, more intimate bucket-list experience, the Atlas Adventurer is opening bookings for her 2028 inaugural season in Southeast Asia and Africa. Early bookings come with a choice of a $3,000 air credit, free Wi-Fi, or a pre-expedition hotel stay.

8. P&O’s Inclusive Mediterranean Fly-Cruises
P&O is pushing "hassle-free" 2026 summer luxury with inclusive fly-cruise packages to Malta, Greece, and Croatia. Prices start at £899 per person, including flights and transfers, which is a great stress-free option for senior groups.

9. Holland America Opens 2028 Grand Voyages
HAL is now taking bookings for their epic 129-day World Voyage and 90-day Australia/NZ voyage. These are designed for "slow travel" with overnight stays and over 40 UNESCO sites. Booking early gets you extra onboard credits and airfare support.

10. "Back-2-Back" Sailing Perks
Margaritaville at Sea has introduced a formal "Back-2-Back" program that allows you to link two cruises into one longer trip. They’re offering perks like free laundry between voyages and expedited transition between cabins, making longer vacations much smoother.

New Look, Same Heart: Welcome to Travel for a Cause

Change is a beautiful thing. It’s the one thing in life that is absolutely constant, especially in the world of travel. Over the last few years, I’ve watched the way we explore the world evolve. I’ve seen my clients move from wanting simple solo vacations to craving something deeper, a sense of community, a purpose for their miles, and a way to give back while they take it all in.

That is why I am so incredibly excited to share a major milestone with you. Today, Getaway By Tonya Jean Becker is evolving. We are stepping into a new identity that reflects exactly where my heart has been leading us: Travel for a Cause.

A Fresh Look for Our Journey

I believe that a brand should tell a story. When I first started this business over six years ago, it was all about the "getaway." It was about finding that perfect escape from the daily grind. While that is still a huge part of what I do, the "why" behind the trips has grown.

Our new brand identity is designed to reflect that growth. It’s clean, it’s modern, and it represents the bridge between our love for exploration and our commitment to making a difference. That is why we have updated our logo.

But as the title of this post says: it’s a new look, but it’s the same heart. My mission has always been to provide seamless, joyful travel experiences. That won't change. If anything, this new focus allows me to serve you with even more passion and intentionality.

What is "Travel for a Cause"?

You might be wondering, "Tonya, what does this actually mean for my next vacation?"

The shift to "Travel for a Cause" means we are leaning heavily into two areas I am deeply passionate about: Travel and Fundraising Cruises.

The Power of Group Travel!

There is something magical about experiencing a new destination with a group. Whether it’s a group of lifelong friends, a family reunion, or a gathering of strangers who become friends by the time the plane lands, group travel amplifies every moment.

My new tagline, See it all. Share it all., truly captures this sentiment. When you see the sunset over the Mediterranean or walk through the historic streets of Kyoto, it’s a wonderful experience. But when you turn to the person next to you and share that "wow" moment? That’s when the memory sticks.

We are focusing on creating curated group experiences that take the stress out of planning. No more "who is booking what" or "what time are we meeting." I handle the logistics; you handle the memory-making.

Fundraising: Travel for a Cause

This is the part of the new brand that truly beats with my "same heart" philosophy. I’ve seen how travel can be a force for good. We are now specializing in fundraising travel (of any kind) designed to help nonprofits, schools, local charities, and community organizations raise money while their supporters enjoy a world-class vacation.

Imagine this: your organization earns a portion of the proceeds for every cabin, hotel, car rental, etc booked. You get to host workshops, galas, or simple "get-to-know-you" mixers. Your supporters get to bond in a relaxed, beautiful environment, and your cause gets the financial boost it needs to continue its vital work. It is a win-win in the truest sense.

Six Years of Expertise, One Mission

While the name on the door (well, the digital door!) might look a little different, the person behind the keyboard is the same. I have spent more than six years navigating the complexities of the travel industry. Dean has spent years travelling internationally. From shifting airline policies, to the nuances of different cruise lines and all-inclusives, I have been in the trenches learning how to make travel better for you.

Six years has taught me a lot. It’s taught me that the best travel agent isn’t just someone who can find a cheap flight; it’s someone who can act as an advocate, a designer, and a safety net.
I’ve spent thousands of hours researching destinations, building relationships with vendors, and: most importantly: listening to you. I know what makes a trip go from "okay" to "life-changing." I bring all of that expertise into this new chapter of Travel for a Cause.

Whether you are a solo traveler looking to join one of our curated groups or an organization leader looking to plan a massive fundraiser, you are in experienced hands.

To My Long-Time Travelers: Thank You

To those of you who have been with me since day one: thank you. You have trusted me with your families, your milestone birthdays, and your "just because" retreats. You are the reason I do what I do.

I want you to know that while the branding is shifting toward this collective, cause-driven focus, I am still here for your individual travel needs. You’ll still get the same personalized service and the same simple, stress-free booking process you’ve come to expect from Getaway By Tonya Jean Becker. This evolution is just a way for us to do more together.

To Our New Travelers: Welcome Aboard

If you’re finding us for the first time: welcome! You’ve picked a great time to join the family. If you’ve ever felt like you wanted your travel to mean something more, or if you’ve been intimidated by the idea of planning a large group trip, you are in the right place.

At Travel for a Cause, we believe that seeing the world should be simple. We believe that sharing those experiences makes them better. And we believe that every trip is an opportunity to leave the world a little better than we found it.

See It All. Share It All.

The world is a massive, beautiful place, and there is so much of it left to see. My goal for the next six years and beyond is to help as many people as possible get out there and experience it: together.

Are you ready to plan a trip that makes an impact? Whether you want to join an upcoming group departure or you want to talk about how your favorite charity can benefit from a some kind of travel, I’m ready to help

Thank you for being part of this journey. I can't wait to see where we go next.

2. Delta’s New Accessible Flight Maps: Rolling out to 650+ aircraft, these maps feature high-contrast visuals and voice narration. It’s designed specifically for low-vision travelers, but the larger text and icons are a great "quality of life" upgrade for all our senior clients.

3. Airbus "U Suite" Breakthrough: Airbus unveiled a concept that allows passengers to stay in their own powered wheelchairs throughout the flight. It’s a huge step toward preventing wheelchair damage and making air travel truly inclusive.

4. Virgin Australia’s Digital Leap: They’re halving check-in times at 10 major airports starting this month. New one-step bag drops and app-based "Fly Earlier" features are making the airport hustle much more manageable.

6. Emirates’ Sensory Support: Emirates is now offering "travel rehearsals" at airports to help families with autistic or sensory-sensitive members get comfortable before the big day. They’ve also added onboard fidget toys and specialized sensory products.

8. Starlink Expansion on Emirates: 21 long-haul Emirates aircraft are now equipped with ultra-fast Starlink Wi-Fi, with more coming this year. This is a game-changer for families needing reliable streaming and connectivity at 35,000 feet.

It's Thursday!!

Here are 10 stories you should know about:

1. Riviera’s World-First "Solo Ship": Riviera Travel just announced that for 2027, they’re reconfiguring the George Eliot to be the world’s first-ever ship dedicated entirely to solo travelers. No supplements, just a ship full of like-minded explorers.

2. Riviera Resplendence Launching 2026: They also unveiled details for their newest ship, Riviera Resplendence. It will feature their largest-ever suites (over 340 sq ft!) and a new "Mosaic" restaurant with an open kitchen.
3. Trafalgar Waiving Solo Fees: Trafalgar is making a big push into river cruising by waiving single supplements on most of their 2026 Rhine and Danube sailings if booked by May 28.
4. AmaWaterways Christens AmaSofia: The brand-new AmaSofia was just christened on the Rhine. It’s the first ship to debut their refreshed branding and features a 300-drone light show ceremony—talk about making an entrance!
5. "VIVA Beyond" Boutique Concept: VIVA Cruises is launching a new boutique label. The first ship, VIVA Beyond, will carry only 112 guests on the Seine, focusing on high-end gastronomy and art-themed itineraries.
6. U.S.-Centric Upgrades for Riviera: To better serve our clients, Riviera is adding "North American enhancements" to their ships, including dual time/temperature formats and American-style breakfast items.
7. Themed Cruising Trend: We're seeing a huge spike in specialized trips. New for 2026 are "Gardens & Natural Beauty of the Rhine" and "Gastronomy of the Danube" tours—perfect for seniors with specific hobbies.
8. Spotlight Savings on Rhine/Danube: Trafalgar is offering up to 50% off select 2026 departures plus a €1,000 shipboard credit for suites. These are stackable with their current summer sales.
9. Festive Solo Cruises: Due to high demand, new solo-only Christmas Market and New Year's departures have been added for the Danube. These usually sell out fast, so it’s good to get ahead of them.
10. Accessibility Tech on the Seine: The new boutique ships on the Seine are incorporating more "overnight stay" itineraries in Paris, allowing guests to explore at a much more relaxed, senior-friendly pace without the rush to re-board.

05/13/2026

Since 2022, when I officially started booking for my amazing clients, I’ve had the honor of planning over 25 vacations—ranging from complex airfare and hotel packages to relaxing cruises and land-based adventures.

I actually launched my business in November 2019, and we all know what happened just a few months later. Navigating the travel industry through a global pandemic was a masterclass in resilience and problem-solving, and it only deepened my commitment to being a true advocate for my travelers.

I am incredibly proud of where I am today and so grateful for the support of my host agency, WORLDVIA, and my consortium, Travel Leaders. Through their rigorous programs, I’ve already earned my Certified Group Travel Specialist (a 3-year journey!) and am just weeks away from completing my Certified Leisure Travel Specialist designation at the end of this month.

These aren't your typical "read a book and take a test" certifications. They are intensive, multi-year commitments that have pushed me to grow as a professional. To earn these, I’ve had to complete:

--Verified Booking Milestones: Proving my expertise through real-world results.
--Deep Research: Like my recent deep-dives into Accessible Travel and destination logistics.
--Supplier Expertise: Earning specialist status with top partners like ALG Vacations, Hyatt, and Princess Cruise Lines.
--Strategic Business Planning: Developing comprehensive marketing and engagement plans to better serve my niche.
--Client Validation: Backed by the reviews and testimonials from the travelers I’ve been lucky enough to assist.

It’s about much more than just "booking a trip." It's about professional development, staying ahead of industry trends, and ensuring I have the tools to create seamless, bucket-list experiences for you.

It's Wednesday!

1. Westin’s All-Inclusive Debut in Mexico: The Westin Playa Vallarta has officially reopened as the brand's first all-inclusive in Mexico. It’s got a massive wellness focus (think "Heavenly Beds" and yoga mats in every room) and a dedicated family studio wing, which is great for our multi-generational travelers.

2. Hyatt Zilara Cancun’s Big Reveal: This adults-only favorite just reopened on May 5th after a total overhaul. They’ve added a 23-seat speakeasy called Bokeh and a new Yucatecan concept, Casa Adelita, focusing more on local culture than the standard buffet experience.

3. Caribbean’s Largest Resort Opening Soon: Mark June 1st on your calendar—The Grand Punta Cana is set to open with a staggering 2,171 suites. It’s basically a city in itself with 20+ dining venues and a Greg Norman-designed golf course right on-site.

4. Lopesan’s Multigenerational Expansion: Lopesan Splash Cove just opened in Punta Cana. It’s specifically designed for easy movement between the waterpark and quiet pools, which is a big plus for families with varying mobility needs.

5. New "Resort-Within-a-Resort" in Punta Cana: Right next door, the adults-only Lopesan Serenity Bay also launched. It allows adult clients to have a quiet home base while still being able to access the massive facilities (and wave pool!) of the larger family-friendly complex.

6. JW Marriott Costa Elena Update: The brand’s first all-inclusive project in Costa Rica is nearing completion for a late spring launch. It’s bringing 17 pools and a 16,000 sq ft spa to the northern coast—definitely one for the luxury bucket-list.

7. Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Nayarit: Siari, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, just opened yesterday! While technically ultra-luxury, it’s leaning into that inclusive "Reserve" experience with cliffside villas and a massive focus on privacy and space across 920 oceanfront acres.

8. Beaches Turks & Caicos Expansion: The new Treasure Beach Village is now live, adding 101 multi-bedroom suites. They’ve also added a 32-seat cinema and a new infinity pool to help spread out the crowds at this popular family spot.

9. Wellness-First "Digital Detox" Zones: Royalton Vessence Barbados is set to debut soon with dedicated "digital detox" areas and wellness workshops—perfect for clients looking to actually unplug while they’re away.

10. Accessibility Tech Upgrades: We’re seeing a trend of resorts using dedicated apps for 24-hour in-room dining and activity booking (like at the new Grand Punta Cana), which makes navigating these massive properties much easier for seniors who prefer to plan from their room.

Happy Monday, I hope you had a relaxing weekend.

1. Oceania’s New Ship & Global Voyages: Oceania just opened reservations for the Aurelia (formerly Nautica). They also announced two epic 180-day "Around the World" cruises for 2028 and 2029. With a small-ship feel (under 500 guests), these are perfect for seniors who want luxury without the crowds of a mega-ship.
2. Silversea’s Accessible Shore Excursions: Silversea has partnered with Accessible Travel Solutions to launch a new line of excursions specifically for disabled and senior travelers. They’re starting in the Caribbean and Central America with wheelchair-accessible vehicles and step-free routes.
3. Holland America’s "Evolution" Renovation: The Oosterdam just underwent its largest modernization yet. They’ve added new "Solo Verandahs"—which is fantastic for your solo senior travelers who still want a private balcony without the massive price jump.
4. Holland America Ranked #1 for Seniors: A new May 2026 industry report ranked Holland America as the overall best cruise line for seniors this year, citing their high-quality enrichment programs and robust accessible cabin tiers.
5. Escorted Accessible Mediterranean Cruise: Sage Traveling just announced a fully escorted accessible group cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas for late May. It includes accessible balcony staterooms and five guaranteed step-free shore excursions.
6. United’s Accessibility Wins Impact Cruising: While an airline update, the rollout of better accessibility tech (like autonomous wheelchairs at major hubs) is making the "fly-to-cruise" transition much smoother for your mobility-challenged clients this month.
7. Princess Cruises for Couples: Princess is being highlighted this month as the top "familiar and safe" choice for older couples looking for Caribbean and Alaska itineraries, thanks to their consistent accessibility standards across the fleet.
8. Oceania’s Medical Grade Air Tech: Oceania has confirmed that their entire fleet is now equipped with medical-grade H13 HEPA air filtration. This is a great selling point for health-conscious seniors or those with respiratory concerns.
9. MSC’s Streamlined Special Needs Process: MSC Cruises has updated their special needs request system. They now require forms to be submitted at least 30 days before sailing, but the new online portal makes it much easier for agents to track medical and dietary requests.
10. Viking’s Adults-Only Policy: Viking continues to be a top recommendation for seniors this May, as they are strictly enforcing their 18+ policy, ensuring a quiet, destination-focused environment without the noise of family-oriented ships.
