Fern Canyon via John Irvine Trail and back on Miners Ridge Trail is a spectacular way to hit the best of Prairie Creek State Park in one day.

Yesterday was an amazing tour with a wonderful guest from New York. We hiked among rays of light filtering through old-growth redwood groves, explored the creek and moss covered walls of Fern Canyon, ate lunch on the beach within view of an Elk herd, and journeyed back along the ridgeline through flowering Salmonberry, Salal, and Trilliums.
