Did you catch the 57th Annual Kinetic Grand Championship when it began in Arcata in late May?

For this competition, artists build amazing sculptures that, over the course of a three day race, must cross and survive land, sand, mud, and open water. And they do it all… for the glory! 🏆

Every year the competition begins at the Arcata Plaza before racing through town and off to the dunes. It’s a competition filled with local culture, whimsy and fun and there’s truly nothing else like it. Thanks to for capturing some of the moments with his own unique style.

Plan to visit for Memorial Day weekend next year! And don’t forget about Oyster Fest coming up on Saturday, June 13!

Redwood Park is one of the Crown Jewels of Arcata’s Community Forest. 🌳🫈 With miles of trails, an accessible playground, a bicycle pump track and of course a serene forest all around, it’s truly a stunning place to spend an afternoon.

On any given day you can find visitors and locals alike bird watching, having picnics, hiking, playing yard games and more. Come join in the fun this summer and plan a day at the park when you visit Arcata.

Cal Poly Humboldt’s Fiesta Folklórica returns to the Van Duzer Theater for one weekend only this February! 🌸🌹

Celebrate the vibrant cultures of Mexico as dancers showcase traditional performances, including Danza Azteca, from regions across the country and transports you south with a variety of styles of Mexican music. 🎻

Tickets are on sale now at tickets.humboldt.edu/. Tickets can also be purchased at the door while seats remain available.
