Nobody really talks about the weird transition of learning how to travel as âjust twoâ again after years of family trips.
My husband and I are definitely in that stage now, and honestly⌠itâs a little bittersweet.
For so many years, travel looked like:
⢠what will entertain the kids
⢠finding the most budget-friendly option
⢠hoping everyone enjoys what we planned (because honestly⌠nobody wants complaining on vacation đ)
⢠making memories through the chaos
And now suddenly itâs:
âWait⌠we can just go?â
Weâre learning what we enjoy again.
Slower mornings.
Long dinners.
A quiet balcony.
Not needing a minute-by-minute plan.
And while Iâll always treasure those family travel years, thereâs something really special about rediscovering each other in this season too.
BUT⌠Iâm also very excited about this newer skip-gen travel trend that Iâm helping clients with â grandparents traveling with grandkids. Because trust me, whenever our kids say itâs time, Eric and I are READY to take Iris to all the places. âď¸
Also, just because we donât currently have younger kids traveling with us does NOT mean Eric and I wonât still be fully enjoying all the Disney magic ourselves. đ°
Travel changes over the years.
But the connection part?
Thatâs still the best part. â¨
