Join us Friday, September 11 at 4:00 PM for the National Broom Sweeping Contest, during the 2026 Arcola’s 55th Broomcorn Festival where participants of all ages put their broom-handling skills to the test in a competition that is uniquely Arcola!!!

A few changes from our last event:

✅ Vendors will be in the same location as our previous event.
🎵 Live music has been moved to the front of City Hall.
🧹 The Arcola Broom Palace will be hosting Community Day from 5–8 p.m.
🪑 Grab your lawn chairs, gather your friends and family, and enjoy an evening in downtown Arcola.

What is it about the Raggedy Ann Rally that brings people to Arcola, Illinois? For some, it's a lifelong love of Raggedy Ann. For others, it's the friendships, creativity, and sense of community they've discovered along the way!!

For years, the Raggedy Ann Rally has brought together collectors, enthusiasts, artists, and families to celebrate one of America's most beloved dolls. It's a weekend filled with stories, traditions, laughter, and connections that span generations.

We were excited to capture a few of this year's attendees as they shared their connection to Raggedy Ann and what they enjoy most about visiting Arcola for the Raggedy Ann Rally. While each story is unique, one theme came up again and again: the warm welcome they receive when they arrive!

Many described Arcola as one of Illinois' hidden gems—a place where visitors quickly feel at home.

Their stories are just one small piece of a tradition that continues to bring people together year after year. Because while every journey to Arcola is different, the memories made here tend to stick around.

The Raggedy Ann Rally may have wrapped up, but the memories are still dancing through the streets of Arcola and through the Arcola Broom Palace!

What a weekend it was! We kicked things off with our friends from the R.A.R.E. Group, welcomed visitors from near and far, and had the pleasure of sharing Amazing Arcola with viewers across Central Illinois during@WCIA 3 News Weather on the Road !
A special thank you to Meteorologist Kevin Lighty, who arrived ready to jump right into the fun. We even had a Raggedy Andy costume waiting for him, but instead he chose one of the best seats in town—high atop the Broom Palace, where he helped showcase the charm, character, and community spirit that make Arcola so special.

Thank you to WCIA for bringing Weather on the Road to our community, to Roberta Porter Brennan and Mick Howrey & the Raggedy event organizers for helping orchestrate the fun, and to Cassie Yoder for helping guide the conversations and share Arcola's story.

We also want to recognize the incredible support of Best Western Plus Green Mill Village Hotel & Suites Convention Center and Green Mill Village. Their ongoing commitment to welcoming visitors and supporting regional tourism helps create the kind of experiences that keep people coming back to Amazing Arcola year after year.

Weekends like this don't happen because of one person or one organization. They happen because an entire community comes together to celebrate what makes Arcola unforgettable. Sending all our love & until next year, Raggedy friends. ❤️

This year's Children's Celebration once again brought families, friends, businesses, & volunteers together to celebrate one of our favorite things about Arcola...our kids!!!
