Travel Protection. It's more than just for cancellations! In fact, cancellations are the hardest to include in your travel protection plan, and the easiest to self-insure for. Much more important is to make sure that you are covered for medical emergencies and medical transport while you are overseas. Many times, US health insurance does not apply.

On my last cruise, we spent the first sea day en route from Galveston to Costa Maya. In the middle of the night, we realized the ship had actually stopped in Cozumel on the way. Rumor had it that a passenger had a medical emergency and had to be transferred off of the ship. 😧 I always wonder in these cases, how things turned out. Seeking medical help in a foreign country can be both difficult and expensive. Most travel insurance plans include a concierge service to help you coordinate what you need during a stressful time.

Royal Caribbean or MSC? Both have smallish ships sailing from Galveston, both stopped at the same ports... but the experience on board is quite different. MSC features a slower pace and more relaxation-geared European experience at a very competitive price point. Whereas if you like a lot of activities on board, Royal Caribbean is pretty much unmatched!

I love doing the make your own sushi class in Izumi. It's a fun activity with friends, and also... yummmm! 🤩

My favorite part of vacation. My son loves to go up to the pool deck for a little 😎☀️ I like to join him for a little 🍹 from the roving pool waiter.

Main Dining Room or Windjammer Buffet? I am usually but I do have to say, there's something lovely about getting the exact mix of foods you enjoy, from bacon to oatmeal to that delicious potato curry. Not pictured: the single piece of Eggs Benedict that I went back for!
