Visited a place in Vienna that does more than just serve cake. Vollpension isn’t your average café; it’s a living room for the city, where generations come together over coffee and homemade sweets.

Here, the bakers aren’t just employees. They’re grandmas and grandpas, sharing slices of their life stories along with fresh-baked cakes made from time-tested family recipes. You walk in for breakfast or a slice of apple strudel, and without realizing it, you’re part of something bigger.

Lots of folks like doing the usual tourist things when they travel. I do, but I prefer stuff that's off the beaten track. Today I had an amazing private guide into Nowa Huta, which was built as the model communist utopia city. We drove in a classic Soviet Lada, visited the utopian city, went through the massive steel factory's old bomb shelter and emergency centcom, visited multiple old shops still in operation, and sampled the most amazing sweet pierogi from an old grandma at a classic milk bar.
