📍 The Round Barn Bar - Butler County Fair (David City, NE) 🐄➡️🍻

🎡🎟️Start date: The fair was established in 1875 commemorated the fair's 150th anniversary in 2025!

Talk about a piece of history! We had to stop at the famous "Round Barn" at the Butler County Fair in David City, and what an experience.

This octagon-shaped structure was originally built in the early 1900s—it's a massive, vintage livestock judging pavilion that now serves as the fair's official watering hole!

Vibe: Electric, fun, and packed with happy fairgoers.

Drinks: Cold beer, mixed drinks, and seltzers on hand.

Bonus: Live music and they even sell cool T-shirts to prove you visited this unique spot! It’s the perfect place to grab a cold one and listen to a band after a long day at the fair.

There was also this famous guy 😋 singing that night We saw SUV's pull up outside the Round Barn front door and sure enough, it was 90s country star Rhett Akins and his band! We ran over to the arena catch hits like "That Ain't My Truck" and "Don't Get Me Started." He's not just been a successful solo artist, he's also written chart toppers for some big names. Rhett has had 31 No. 1 singles (and counting), which is remarkable! And still puts on a great show! 🎤🎸

On Monday nights, hit up the Wright place, My Place Bar & Grill 🍗 It’s WING NIGHT! 🍗 and let us tell you, it was a 10/10 Small Town Road Trip stop!

Wing Night was an absolute SMASH HIT! If you're looking for huge, delicious wings ($1 JUMBO WINGS from 5:30–8 p.m.) and a cold beer, this is your hidden gem.

This was exactly the kind of fun, small-town energy we look for on the road. The beer was ice-cold (don't forget to buy a koozie), the atmosphere was packed and fun, and the wings were incredible: huge, with a ton of great flavor options.

Staff was fantastic! Beers are tasty and inexpensive! Food was yummy, delicious, big portions! Small town bar food at its best! They have keno, pool table, chance machines! They have a old bell 🔔 that they ring for Husker Touchdowns! Bathroom is rustic! 😜 (Don't trip) I did, twice! Not sure who Dave is.

15,000 sq ft facility, opening summer of 2025 will host a 5 BBL brewhouse, two-story restaurant and full bar, private dining/event/meeting spaces, four pickleball courts (two indoor and two outdoor), a spacious yard with games and activities, multiple fire pits, a truly one-of-a-kind rooftop deck, and fun for the entire family.

Welcome to Buck's Bar and Grill ! 🎵🥁🎙️🎸

Laid back, small town atmosphere. Food & Drink specials. Friendly staff, and friendly customers; those who are not friendly are not welcome. 😂 Dive Bar, H***y Tonk, music mecca!

This place transforms into a live music venue with a national reputation. Musicians from both coasts and everywhere in between want to play at this bar that’s so tiny it doesn’t even have a stage. Buck’s has gained a reputation as a launching pad, with Buck’s alumni selling out storied venues like Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and appearing on national TV. Many have made it to the hallowed Grand Ole Opry.

🥥🌴 Coconut Tree Lounge - brings a vibrant great outdoor Tiki lounge located at Woodcliff Lakes. Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, No Shoes Nation.. all the vibes right in Nebraska! Beach bar, Caribbean life, island life! Ire! This place is cool! And it's on the water!
