Yesterday was Quest's Career Speaker, Nathan Bahamundi, soon to be licensed Barber. He spoke about his training, his certification process, and graduation (next week). One student (and his parents) was up for a haircut, so Nathan was able to show details of his artistry to our Quest Students!

Strive 4 Success Student Showcase for Families was last week, and the last day of programming this school year for Strive. Hoping all of our students feel a bit more confident and prepared for their end of the year testing!
Tonight we showcased their art, Lego and Weaving projects completed during this Winter/Spring Strive Session. Students with 100% attendance were recognized as well as students who only missed one Strive Day! Congratulations to all students who showed growth in their academics and behaviors during the school day!

ASD is so appreciative to the Lakeside High School Youth Philanthropy Board for this donation, but also for their dedication to making good decisions through their interview process with great questions. Such a wonderful education process to what is available and what is needed in our community for these students, and not as easy as it sounds!

If you haven't gone and explored our Ashtabula Co Covered Bridges, put it on your to do list for this spring/summer! Our Quest students were very engaged in the views, history and details of each of the four bridges that they visited this week. Thank you Ginger Whitehead for your expertise!

Youth Leadership of Ashtabula LEADERship Ashtabula County, Inc. has one of their Project Groups working on a new After School Discovery Program -- new ideas, concepts, marketing tools! So excited to see what the outcome is in May! Thank you for your dedication to this advancement in beyond school day learning!

ASD's Strive 4 Success is winding down. So thankful to the team of teachers, instructors and support people and of course the funding that allows the 3rd thru 6th graders two days of after school academic and enrichment skill building. Not to mention a snack, a dinner meal and a bus ride home. Winter session had lots of learning and adventures!
Correction for below: The Student Success party is on Wednesday, APril 23rd , not Tuesday. Sorry for the mistake.

The last part of the Strive 4 Success Etiquette dinner: Dessert, then more trivia from David McGrath and Kelly Grable. Of course, followed by some prizes! Everyone learned, filled their stomachs and had fun!

The Etiquette Dinner for Strive 4 Success students continued:
After the Salad and the Roll, came the Pasta and Meatballs, and of course the Dessert! Thank you, David McGrath and Sunset Transportation, for hosting this event again this year, and for the Fun Trivia game you always bring (along with the $2 bills -- Yes, this year the students knew the answer to who is on the $2 bill!)

Last night was the 3rd annual Strive 4 Success, Sunset Etiquette Dinner and Activity event! They began by watching a short video on dinner table etiquette, how to set a dinner table from simple to very fancy, including good and bad habits before, during and after the dinner. Then they held a table setting contest to see who could set their table for 8 in the "simple" setting for their dinner. Watch for the next courses! Thank you Sunset Transportation
