Meet Pat Althouse, Lead Destination Specialist at ASE for 19 years! Learn about her favorite past and present Aspen experiences and why she loves working in guest services.

🏔️🐴🌲What is one of your favorite pastimes in Aspen?
Aspen offers so many activities that it’s hard to choose just a few. For such a small town, there’s an incredible variety year-round. From skiing in the winter, the main reason many of us came here, to short but vibrant summers spent between my two horses and volunteering as a ranger for the Forest Conservancy.

🎬🎭.What is a new event in Aspen that you have attended and enjoyed?
I recently attended a screening of the Friedl Pfeifer documentary at the Wheeler Opera House. It was packed with locals and visitors alike. While I knew his name, I had no idea how instrumental he was in Aspen’s early ski history, it was fascinating to learn more.

💛✈️What is a fond memory you have of working in guest services over the years?
I’ve been with ACRA for 19 years, and it’s the team that makes this role so meaningful. Many of my closest friendships began as coworkers at the airport, and their support during my husband’s illness and passing was truly a gift.

Kids can enjoy hands-on activities like:
🔥 Touring a fire truck
🚴 Riding the Kiwanis Bike Rodeo course
💧 Learning water safety tips
⛑️ Receiving a FREE fitted bike helmet
