A Helicopter ride out of Portillo, a beautiful transfer to Santiago, a 14 hour flight to NY, a quick Uber to CT, a stroll down the dock with my fly rod in hand and my brother, Todd, picking me up to go fishing. From winter to summer in 24 hours.

A Chilean winter storm didn’t slow us down this week. Singing, dancing, cards, snowshoeing, more dancing, adventuring the depths of Hotel Portillo, a little bit of drinking, trips to La Posada, and a few things I can’t mention, kept as all busy while we waited for our powder days.

Mentor, friend, bad ass. My career as a guide wouldn’t be where it is today without this man, Portillo snow safety director, Frank Coffey. With 3k vert. of sold rock cliffs above the piste in Portillo, Frank has one of the most challenging jobs in the industry. Thank you Frank and your team for keeping us safe.

Woke up to blizzard conditions and 30cm overnight. Lifts were closed due to avalanche danger. Another 30 plus during the day, a snowshoe adventure, cards, work, gym, hot tub. Still snowing. 🤞for tomorrow.
