Small thing that trips people up every year: the Aspen Saturday Market moves to a 9am start today. It ran at 8:30 all summer.

Colorado produce, bakers, flowers, and makers filling the downtown streets every Saturday through October 3.

Our team's move? Get there right at nine and go to Louis Swiss first. They bring about ten racks of pastries and the best ones go early. Then walk the whole market once before you buy anything else.

Staying in Snowmass? Don't even attempt to drive down.

The free village shuttle goes straight to Town Park and the parking fills long before the first set. And bring a layer you are sure you will not need, because the sun drops behind the mountain and takes the temperature with it. Somebody learns that one the hard way every year!

Most visitors come to Aspen for the mountains. The locals know there's another side to summer here.

Pack a picnic, grab a blanket, and spend an afternoon or evening on the lawn outside the Aspen Music Festival tent. You don't need a ticket to enjoy world-class music drifting through the beautiful grounds surrounding the tent. The Festival wraps up this weekend with its final performances, including Beethoven's Ninth on Sunday.

On Tuesday, wander into the Aspen Art Museum. Admission is always free or keep an eye out for sculptures and installations tucked throughout downtown that many visitors walk right past.

And if you're staying a little longer, DanceAspen returns to the Wheeler next week with CRESCENDO, featuring a world premiere inspired by the music and spirit of John Denver.

These experiences aren't hidden because they're exclusive. They're hidden because most people simply don't know to look.

Sunday, take the gondola up. There is bluegrass and Americana on the Sundeck at 11,212 feet, noon to three, free with your gondola ticket.

Go on the Sunday after a big weekend. Legs sore, sun on your face, nothing left to accomplish. It runs into early September and the views are not to be missed. Aperol spritz just tastes better up here.

A guest wrote this after a stay with us last month.

This review didn't happen by accident. It's the result of a team that walked the home before arrival, checking every detail so it would be ready for a five-star experience. It's the welcome basket set out on the counter with snacks, a QR code to the guest guide, a handwritten note from the person who inspected it. It's every question, answered quickly, no matter what time it came in.

The Mane Event is August 23, 11am–2pm at the Snowmass Rodeo Grounds: Classical Dressage, reining, equine massage, and farrier demos alongside the Westernaires' trick riding and Smiling Goat Ranch's therapeutic riding work, plus time up close with their animals. Between demos there's a local vendor marketplace, activities for kids, and live music from Elk Range.

Free entry. Food and drink are available for purchase, with proceeds going to Smiling Goat Ranch. Don't miss out on this unique and exciting one day event.

Thirty years in this valley taught us that a great stay isn't about grand gestures. It's about the corners nobody thinks to check, the little touches that make a place feel cared for. Wednesday it was the Snowmass Rodeo. By Sunday it was paddleboards on the Roaring Fork. In between: live music, singletrack, a ride up the gondola, and an evening on the river with a fly rod.
This is our team’s time off the clock. The same people who walk a home before a guest ever arrives, restock the welcome basket, and answer the phone no matter what time it rings are the ones who actually live and play in this valley.
