THE FESTIVAL IS TOMORROW! The Battle took place 79 years ago today!

Reminder: "Beat the Heat" Downtown Walking Tours with Sheriff and Historian Joe Guy at 8 AM and 9 AM. (Meet at the Market Park Pavilion).

The festival begins at 5:00 PM, with two "Sunset" Downtown Walking Tours at 7 PM and 8 PM led by author Tyler L. Boyd.

Gems of the Past!

Gems of the Past – Overhill History Lecture Series will be presenting Tyler Boyd, local author & historian, Thursday, August 7th at 7:00pm at the Etowah Gem Theater. Boyd will speak on the Life and Legacy of Harry T. Burn - Harry Burn Sr. (November 12, 1895 – February 19, 1977) was a member of the Tennessee General Assembly for McMinn County, Tennessee. Burn became the youngest member of the state legislature when he was elected at the age of twenty-two. He is best remembered for action taken to ratify the Nineteenth Amendment during his first term in the legislature. Burn changed his vote for the Amendment after receiving a letter from his mother, Fedd Burn of Niota, TN. This event is free to the public. Gem Theater, 700 Tennessee Ave., Etowah, TN – 423-263-7232.
