7 DAYS IN ICELAND 🇮🇸 — HOW MUCH CAN YOU SEE?
Turns out… a lot.
If you’re up for a road trip, 7 days can take you through some of Iceland’s most incredible regions — waterfalls, glaciers, black sand beaches, geothermal wonders, dramatic coastlines, mountains, tiny fishing villages and landscapes that barely look real.
Here’s what a 7-day Iceland itinerary could look like:
📍 DAY 1 — REYKJAVÍK
Explore the city, Hallgrímskirkja, Rainbow Street, the waterfront and Icelandic food scene.
📍 DAY 2 — WEST ICELAND → WESTFJORDS
Head north through West Iceland before making your way into the remote and incredibly scenic Westfjords.
📍 DAY 3 — WESTFJORDS
Rauðisandur Beach, Látrabjarg cliffs, Dynjandi waterfall and miles of wild fjord scenery.
📍 DAY 4 — WESTFJORDS → SNÆFELLSNES
Explore small fishing villages before heading toward the Snæfellsnes Peninsula and iconic Kirkjufell.
📍 DAY 5 — SNÆFELLSNES → SOUTH COAST
See the dramatic coastline around Arnarstapi and Hellnar, Búðir Black Church, then continue south toward Iceland’s famous waterfalls.
📍 DAY 6 — SOUTH COAST
Black sand beaches, glaciers, waterfalls and the incredible landscapes around Vík.
📍 DAY 7 — GOLDEN CIRCLE
Gullfoss, Þingvellir National Park, Brúarfoss and geothermal landscapes before heading back toward Reykjavík.
One week. Six completely different regions. A LOT of Iceland. 🇮🇸
It’s a fast-paced itinerary with plenty of driving, but if you want to see just how diverse Iceland can be in one week, this route delivers.
