I ate crab, dumplings, macaroni pie and conch! What a combination, but it tasted good 😋

Have you heard about a mud/dirt oven? It's made mostly with dirt, stones, and bricks, and is used to bake bread and other baked goods. The dirt oven was used to establish the first bakeries on the island.

In Tobago, since the post-emancipation period, the dirt oven provided the cheapest and most efficient means of food preparation, and the material for its construction was readily available, at no cost, in and around the communities.🇹🇹

The dirt oven in the photo is not operational.

They say Trinidad sweet, but have you seen Tobago? I feel like it's my home away from home. It's natural beauty, the beaches; a true gem waiting to be discovered. Tobago is perfect for nature lovers and adventurers. I love it here!❤️🇹🇹
