To those individuals who entrusted us with this time, thank you. It is a profound honor and responsibility to hold time and space for you, and we hope you walked away with experiences and memories to that you will always treasure.

Its so hard to sumize what this job entails, but all the hours planning, organizing, researching, booking, hosting, driving, guiding, cooking; are so worth it. It is our sincere hope that each individual is given a value-packed gift that goes well beyond just “going on vacation.”

So, for those of you who are waiting in the wings, newly considering, or are long overdue to join a Sloan Tour, know that the work to curate your experience has already begun, and we look forward to being able to help facilitate a moment in time set apart as something truly unique, special, sacred.

It’s been over 7 years since I was back there. A lot of life has happened in that time, and now that I’m here in the moments before boarding, my mind is starting to wander. I know what I’ve designed for my clients, and I have some idea what awaits them, but what awaits me?

I’m different in many ways, still in my 30s…. barely, but life has drastically changed since that last visit. What, if anything, is going to be done in me? This place has shaped me and it shaped my ancestors, and now I have the immense privilege to go again, to dig a bit deeper, to open myself up, even while staying focused on introducing others to the emerald wonder.

Part of me is excited and another is apprehensive. The most remarkable encounters I’ve had there happened within minutes, and others unfolded in moments long after I was back to the day to day. But I know that as long as my heart remains open, it will come.

I’m grateful this moment comes, not as some disruption to my world, but in the unfolding flow of all that’s going on right now, a much grander work, than what I can see. All things working together.

So, here’s to letting go, awakened dreams, new discoveries, drilling deeper, and the beginning of something new.
