“BELIZE CITY, Belize (January 13, 2022) – In an effort to further protect the health and wellbeing of international visitors and Belizeans from COVID-19, Belize Tourism Board (BTB), the official tourism organization for Belize, has released new safe travel standards for any persons entering the country. Effective Feb. 15, 2022, all visitors are required to apply for Belize Travel Health Insurance – a mandatory insurance that helps protect travelers against incurred medical and non-medical expenses, if they test positive for COVID-19 during their stay in Belize.

The cost of the policy is $18 USD and provides coverage for up to $50,000 USD in medical expenses related to treatment of COVID-19 for a period of 21 days. This insurance plan will come online under the country’s public health regulations and provide cover for lodging expenses due to quarantine up to $2,000 USD (max $300/day USD). Travelers will also be covered for emergency assistance services such as air evacuation and emergency expenses related to pre-existing conditions. Furthermore, it covers trip cancellations and expenses incurred by COVID-19 positive travelers for extended stays.”

What's new in travel? What countries are open for travel now you may be wondering? I will be updating regularly with what is open and what is needed as well as links to those jurisdictions travel protocol so that you stay safe.

Today's country is Greece. Known for it's spectacular weather, beautiful water, ancient architecture, and history this country is on most bucket lists. It's borders experienced a soft opening with limited entrance beginning April 19th with an anticipated full country opening set to take place May 14th. Below is a brief requirements list for all non-citizen visitors. Please visit the country's governmental protocol link below to get full details on their travel requirements and FAQ for tourism.

REQUIREMENTS FOR VISITORS

Before arrival:
- Tourists must fill in the Passenger Locator Form (PLF) no later than 23:59 of the day before arriving in Greece. For more information, please click here.

The traveler must ensure prior to departure that he/she carries some kind of certification of their health condition. Acceptable documents include:

- A negative PCR molecular test result from a laboratory; the test must be taken up to 72 hours before entry.
- A vaccination certificate issued by a certified authority.

All certificates must include the critical information in English and the person’s full name must match the name on the passport or other travel document.

Beginning July 1, 2020, the Greek government has determined how the country will welcome travellers, carry out the necessary diagnostic screening and keep everyone safe throughout the season.

As we continue to build and implement our plan to meet the requirements of the “Framework for Resuming Cruise Ship Operations Order” issued on October 30 by the CDC, please see important information about cancellations for all sailings with embarkations from U.S. homeports from January 1-31, 2021, Embarkations from Baltimore, Charleston, Jacksonville, Long Beach, Mobile, New Orleans and San Diego through February 28, 2021 and Embarkations on Carnival Legend through March 26, 2021. If you have impacted sailings, you and your clients will receive a letter with more specific details throughout the day.
