I received the sweetest email from my cousin Freda after she and Joel returned from Jamaica. 🥰

And I have to tell you, this one really touched me.

She wrote:

“You truly went the extra mile to make everything come together for us, especially within such a short timeframe. I sincerely appreciate your attention to detail and the care you put into our experience. You allowed us to create amazing memories.”

That last sentence. ❤️

“You allowed us to create amazing memories.”

THAT meant so much to me.

Of course I wanted their resort to be beautiful.

I wanted their room to be right.

I wanted the transportation handled.

And yes, I wanted all those little details I worked on behind the scenes to come together.

But what I really wanted was for Freda and Joel to have a wonderful time together.

To laugh.

To relax.

To enjoy each other.

And to come home with some really good memories.

So Cousin, thank you for this email. ❤️

And thank you both for trusting me with your vacation.

Yesterday, one of my clients landed in Madrid. 🇪🇸

And shortly after he landed, I saw this little video he shared from inside his private transportation and it made me smile. 💛

It probably looked like a very small part of his vacation.

To me?

It wasn’t small at all.

I take airport transportation VERY seriously when I’m planning international travel.

After you’ve been on a plane for hours, navigated immigration, collected your luggage and walked into an airport you’ve possibly never been to before, the last thing I want you doing is standing there trying to figure out…

“Okay…now how do I get to my hotel?” 😂

Whenever possible, I want my clients to know exactly what happens next.

Who they’re looking for.

Where they’re meeting them.

And how they’re getting from the airport to their hotel.

It’s not necessarily the exciting part of the itinerary.

Nobody is counting down the days saying, “I can’t WAIT for my airport transfer!” 😂

But there’s something to be said for walking out of an airport in another country, seeing someone waiting for you, getting into your vehicle and simply being able to sit back and say…

“Okay. I made it.” ❤️

To me, that’s part of the vacation too.

How did we get here already?! 😂

We officially have four months left in 2026, and I have a question…

Do you have another trip planned before the year is over? ✈️

And I don’t mean the trip you’ve been THINKING about taking. 😂

I mean bags packed, reservation made, somebody knows you’re coming…TRIP PLANNED.

Maybe you’re going somewhere for your birthday.

A quick weekend getaway.

A couples trip.

Girls trip.

Family vacation.

A wedding.

Cruise.

Or maybe you’ve decided you’ve traveled enough this year and you’re perfectly happy staying home until 2027. 😂

I want to know…

Because apparently some of y’all saw August coming to an end and immediately started looking for pumpkin spice, sweaters and fall decorations.

Ma’am.

Sir.

SUMMER IS NOT OVER. 😂

We still have some summer left and I plan to enjoy every bit of it.

I’m not ready for pumpkins.

I’m not ready for sweaters.

And I’m DEFINITELY not ready for anybody trying to rush me into fall.

Give me sunshine, warm weather, a rooftop and something cold in my glass for a little while longer. 🍸

This picture right here…❤️

July 2013.

My husband and I were in Punta Cana celebrating our anniversary and it was my very first trip to the Dominican Republic. 🇩🇴

I had no idea when we took this picture that 13 years later, I would have visited this beautiful country SIX times. 😂❤️

And trip number six looked a little different.

This time I was invited by Delta Vacations to experience the destination as a travel advisor.

I walked through resorts and room categories.

Tasted the food.

Checked out the beaches and pools.

Asked a million questions. 😂

Experienced what there is to do beyond the resorts.

And paid attention to all those little things that help me figure out who I would, and wouldn’t, recommend a particular experience to.

The funny thing is…

After six visits, I’m STILL discovering something new about the Dominican Republic.

There were places on this trip that surprised me.

Places I walked into and immediately thought of certain clients.

And moments that reminded me that no matter how many times I’ve visited a destination, there’s always more to experience.

In 2013, I came here simply to celebrate my anniversary with my husband. ❤️

Thirteen years later, I’m coming home from my sixth visit with more knowledge, more perspective and probably WAY too many pictures and videos in my phone. 😂

Life is funny like that.

Sometimes you have no idea where that first trip might eventually take you.

This picture makes it look like I was somewhere living my BEST vacation life. 🌴

Let me tell you what the picture doesn’t show…

I hardly sat down this entire trip. 😂

Between presentations, property tours, site inspections, room tours, dinners, excursions and trying to take in as much as I possibly could, there wasn’t a whole lot of “Felicia, sit down somewhere” happening.

But I DID find this little moment.

A mojito.

My toes in the sand.

That beautiful blue water in front of me.

And for a few minutes, absolutely nowhere I needed to be. ❤️

Sometimes that’s all you need.

Not an entire day.

Not even an entire afternoon.

Just a few minutes to look around and think…

“Yep. I’m really here.” 🌴

Then somebody probably came looking for me because it was time to go see another resort. 😂😂

But for those few minutes?

Me and that mojito were VERY happy. ❤️

I spend a LOT of time looking at resorts when I travel for work.

The rooms.

The restaurants.

The beaches.

The pools.

The service.

All the things I need to know before I recommend a property to someone.

But I also want to know what happens when you leave the resort. ❤️

Because for some of my clients, a beautiful room and a gorgeous beach are all they need.

And then I have the ones who are going to ask me…

“Okay Felicia, but what are we DOING?” 😂

Earlier this week, we had a day just for them.

After our morning presentation at Moon Palace The Grand, we traded resort life for a little adventure.

Monkeys.

A cenote.

A buggy.

And a taste of life beyond the resort.

And THIS is exactly why I love experiencing a destination for myself.

Because when a client tells me, “I want to relax, but I also want to get out and DO something…”

I don’t want to just send them a link to an excursion.

I want to be able to say…

“I did this. Let me tell you about it.” ❤️

And now that I’ve done it, I can. 😊

THIS MUST BE THE PLACE. 😂

I had to take a picture under this sign because after the last couple of days, it felt pretty appropriate.

We checked out of Zemi Miches this morning, I’m currently at Hard Rock for another site inspection, and later today we have two more properties to see before checking into our next home, Moon Palace The Grand.

And the more properties I walk through, the more I’m reminded of something…

A beautiful resort doesn’t automatically make it the right resort for YOU.

I can walk into one property and immediately think of a couple who would absolutely love it.

Walk into another and think, “Ohhhh, my girls’ trip people would have a TIME here.” 😂

And then see another and know immediately that I’d choose it for a family traveling with children.

That’s the part you can’t always get from pictures online.

The vibe.

The layout.

The energy.

The little things that make one property feel completely different from another—even when they all look beautiful in pictures.

So when I ask my clients all those questions before I recommend a resort…

There’s a reason. 😂❤️

I’m not looking for just a beautiful place to send you.

I’m looking for YOUR place.

And apparently…this must be the place. 😂

Yesterday was travel day.

Today, the work begins. 🇩🇴

This morning, I got an up-close look at our first property, Zemi Miches.

We started with time in the conference room learning about the property
and then we headed out for a complete tour.

And THIS is the part of these trips that I really enjoy.

Of course I want to see the beautiful pools and beaches.

But I also want to see the things you may not notice scrolling through resort photos online.

The different room categories.

How far things are from one another.

What the restaurants actually look and feel like.

The atmosphere around the pools.

The beach.

The little details that could make me say, “Yes, this would be perfect for you.”

Or…

“Nope. I have somewhere else in mind.” 😑

And we’re not stopping here.

Later today, I’ll be heading over to Secrets and Dreams Playa Esmeralda for another site inspection and tour.

Three properties. One day.

My feet may have something to say about this by tonight. 😂

But my travel advisor brain?

Very happy.
