It’s almost time to think about summer vacations…..

Things to think about if you do not purchase insurance rather you are flying or cruising.

Facts before cruising!!!

Get your paperwork in order. Be sure to have a valid passport, not just a birth certificate, even if your cruise line doesn’t require it. In case of emergency, you’ll need a passport to board an international flight or at unexpected ports of call.

Get insured. Travel insurance is recommended for any surprise expenses or medical needs.

Get to know the law. Familiarize yourself with the laws in the places you’re visiting and be sure you have any relevant visas. Some countries could have laws that affect prescription medication or strict penalties for illegal drug use.

Get to the doctor. Visit your healthcare provider and be sure you have enough medication for the trip and any unexpected delays. Also check up on your vaccines; some diseases that are prevented by vaccines are less common in the United States but could be more common in the places you’re visiting.

Get a plan for seasickness. Some medications, like birth control pills, painkillers, or antidepressants can make seasickness worse. Discuss this with your doctor to see what options are available to reduce symptoms.
