The U.S. Department of State has formally announced that after January 1, 2016, additional visa pages will no longer be added to U.S. passports.

Requests for additional 24-page visa inserts will only be accepted until December 31, 2015. We therefore encourage frequent travelers who may be in need of additional pages to apply now if your passport will be valid for more than another year. Otherwise, when you renew your passport you may apply for a 52-page book.

Sankofa Travel is able to facilitate all applications for additional passport pages with regular, rush or emergency processing available as long as this service is still available.

DELTA TO DISCONTINUE CHECKING LUGGAGE THROUGH TO FINAL DESTINATION FOR PASSENGERS WITH MULTIPLE TICKETS ON ITINERARY:
Effective for travel on or after January 15, 2013, Delta Air Lines will no longer check bags to a final destination when multiple tickets are presented at check in. According to Delta, “if a second ticket is presented for travel on another airline beyond the destination of the first ticket, the passenger will be advised that Delta will only check the bag to the destination on the first ticket(s). The passenger must collect the baggage at baggage claim for their first ticketed destination, and then re-check their baggage with the down-line carrier for the next flight.”

Although I generally do not like public commenting on airline policy, this particular decision by Delta will be devastating for our travelers. I will be contacting Delta to voice my concern for this anti-customer service policy and would encourage others to do so as well. In an ever growing global economy, this policy makes it imperative to look at alternate airlines that support the complex travel itineraries of our clients.
