This means more than just having a valid passport; it also means checking to see if you need a visa for your intended purpose of travel AND making sure you have completed the necessary health forms and are following the necessary protocols regarding the virus situation AND having supporting documents that prove you have a return flight ticket, hotel accommodations (or other lodging arrangements) and proof of financial ability (bank statement and/or credit card statement). Immigrations officials have the authority to turn you away and not allow you into their country if they feel you are not being truthful about the reasons for your visit. Or, they may simply not like the way you look, so dress with care and ditch the tank tops, raggedy shorts, and flip flops Here is some good information provided by Vagabond Buddha that underscores the importance of having your documents in order when you travel internationally, even when going to a country like Mexico that is normally laid-back and welcoming to U.S. citizens.
