U.S. Virgin Islands Welcomes New Nonstop Breeze Airways Service from Tampa to St. Thomas Beginning December 2026.
The US Virgin Islands Department of Tourism has announced new nonstop air service between Tampa and St. Thomas aboard Breeze Airways, with flights set to begin in December 2026.
The new route represents another important expansion of airlift into the Territory, further strengthening accessibility from the mainland United States and making travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands easier for visitors throughout Florida and the broader Southeast.
Tourism officials say the addition of Tampa as a direct gateway to St. Thomas is expected to support continued visitor growth during the peak winter travel season, while also providing travelers with more convenient options for reaching the Territory’s beaches, marine experiences, dining, culture, and year-round warm weather.
“This new route is a testament to the strength of our partnerships and our shared commitment to growing tourism in the U.S. Virgin Islands,” said Commissioner Jennifer Matarangas-King. “Through close collaboration between the Department of Tourism and our airline and industry partners, we continue to expand airlift into the Territory in meaningful ways that support both our visitors and our local economy.”
The December launch comes strategically ahead of the busy winter and holiday travel season, a key period for Caribbean tourism. The new nonstop service is expected to appeal to both leisure travelers and returning visitors seeking a convenient escape to the islands.
The continued expansion of direct air service into the U.S. Virgin Islands reflects broader momentum across the Caribbean tourism sector, where destinations are increasingly focused on improving accessibility from major U.S. feeder markets.
For travelers departing from Florida’s Gulf Coast region, the new Tampa-St. Thomas connection will provide a streamlined option to reach one of the Caribbean’s most popular island destinations without the need for connecting flights.
