Starting February 1, 2026, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will begin charging a $45 fee to travelers who arrive at security checkpoints without a REAL ID or another form of acceptable identification.

This new fee-based service, called TSA ConfirmID, is an optional identity verification process for those who lack compliant documentation but still wish to fly.

Key Details of the $45 Fee
Purpose: The fee covers the operational costs of using a modernized biometric and biographic verification system to establish identity when a physical ID is missing or non-compliant.
Validity: Once paid, the verification is valid for a 10-day travel period. Travelers on a round-trip within this window do not need to pay twice.
No Guarantees: Payment of the fee does not guarantee that TSA will be able to verify your identity. If verification fails, you will not be allowed through security.
Wait Times: Travelers using this process should expect significant delays, typically taking 10 to 30 minutes or longer to complete the identity check.
Payment Method: TSA encourages travelers to pay the nonrefundable fee online in advance via the TSA ConfirmID portal to avoid being removed from the security queue at the airport.

How to Avoid the Fee
You can avoid this charge by presenting a TSA-approved form of identification at the checkpoint, such as:
A REAL ID-compliant state driver's license or ID card.
A valid U.S. Passport or Passport Card.
DHS Trusted Traveler cards (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST).
U.S. Military ID or permanent resident cards.

Relaxation Awaits offers a wide range of travel services. Whether its a girls trip, couples trip, destination wedding or a solo getaway were here for you.

Update from one of my trusted vendors in Jamaica.

🌀 Current Situation in Jamaica
Hurricane Melissa has caused widespread damage across multiple parishes, affecting homes, infrastructure, and essential services.

Airports: All major airports across Jamaica, including Sangster International (MBJ), Norman Manley International (KIN), and Ian Fleming International (OCJ), are currently being assessed for reopening by the end of this week.
American Airlines has announced relief flights from Miami (MIA) to Kingston (KIN) to assist in transporting aid and help travelers stranded on the island.

Hardest-Hit Areas: The parishes of St. Elizabeth, Trelawny, Westmoreland (Negril), St. James (Montego Bay), and St. Ann (Ocho Rios) have been among the most severely affected, with reports of flooding, roof damage, and extended power outages.

Infrastructure: Major damage has been sustained to electrical lines, hospitals, and government buildings, leaving many communities without electricity, food, and clean water.

I will continue to post updates as I get them.

Praying for Jamaica and all the Caribbean that was hit by the Hurricane
