You never know what you’re going to pull up on these multi species trips! I was able to land a popper in a bluefin tuna feed the other day and landed a beauty. Today we saw 2 nice sized mahi that crushed our live peanuts instantly! Unlimited bluefish and some bonito around too. The list of possibilities is getting even longer and we’ll be running these trips all summer long as we watch the different types of fish move in and out of our area.
We should start to see more mahi, cobia, bonito, bluefin tuna, and many more bottom dwellers as the weeks go by. We have availability next week!

Kill Shot Charters is hiring!
I’m looking to hire another captain and mate to run the 40’ Kill Shot out of Atlantic Highlands, NJ. This position will be for the end of August to November as well as next season, beginning in April.

-Captain must hold at least an OUPV (six pack) license
-Have experience fishing the Raritan Bay and surrounding areas
-Work long weeks

-Mate must be able to throw a 12’ cast net
- Friendly with customers, patient, and quick at tying rigs

Both Captain and mate are required to pass a pre-employment DOT 5 panel drug test. They will also be enrolled in a random drug screening during their time employed. No exceptions.

We had a sea bass trip planned for today but since the reports have been on the slow side, everyone opted to go for stripers and fluke. Sure glad we did too! Got enough bunker with 1 throw of the net and it was no time at all before we had our limit of stripers in the box. The tide started changing so we decided to leave them be and bounce around for fluke. Tons of short action everywhere we went and we ended with 3 keepers to top off the box.

Great afternoon on the stripers today! Had a small group so we only brought 75 baits with us and should’ve netted more. Left them biting after boating 29 and running out of bunker. Things are looking like they’re setting up good for our summer bass trips!
We will begin 7 hour striper and fluke combo trips next week and our first open boat is 6/18
These will run into August if we see consistency like this.

Thresher season is officially here! We look forward to this every year and have had a lot of success on the Kill Shot. We’ve been seeing them while we’re in the ocean and been hearing good reports so now’s the time.

The striper and sea bass fishing improved drastically after Memorial Day Weekend! We are currently running sea bass trips in the mornings and striper trips in the afternoons. Some real nice weather recently and good fishing on all trips!
