HELP WANTED (ATLANTA, GA):
LEAD PILOT / ROTORCRAFT MECHANIC
AIRFRAME AND POWER PLANT CERTIFICATION IS HIGHLY PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year DOE
Responsibilities :
The Lead Pilot for our Atlanta location will oversee day-to-day flight operations and provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to our team of tour pilots. This role ensures all flights are conducted safely, professionally, and in full compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and operational standards.
The Lead Pilot will also assist with customer service duties, helping create a smooth, enjoyable experience for guests from check-in to touchdown.
Additional responsibilities include supervising pilot performance, supporting training initiatives, coordinating with management on scheduling and aircraft needs, and maintaining a strong safety culture.
Possessing an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license is highly preferred to lead maintenance oversight and ensure aircraft readiness. This position requires excellent communication, leadership, and customer-focused professionalism to uphold the highest standards of our Atlanta operation.
Pilot Duties:
Safely operate helicopters on scenic tours.
Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections to ensure aircraft airworthiness.
Provide engaging and informative commentary during tours.
Manage passenger safety briefings and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Monitor weather conditions, flight plans, and air traffic regulations for each tour.
Maintain flight logs and comply with FAA regulations.
Mechanic Duties:
Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on helicopters according to FAA and manufacturer standards.
Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure the safety and performance of aircraft.
Diagnose mechanical issues and implement corrective measures.
Keep detailed maintenance records and submit timely reports.
Ensure spare parts inventory is well-stocked and place orders when needed.
Collaborate with pilots and other staff to coordinate flight schedules and maintenance tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
FAA Commercial Rotorcraft License (Helicopter) with a valid 2nd class medical certificate.
FAA A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) Certification highly preferred
Minimum 500 hours PIC in Rotorcraft. Minimum 300 hours in a Robinson R44.
Knowledge of aviation safety protocols and airspace management.
Familiarity with FAA maintenance regulations and manufacturer service bulletins.
Strong communication skills and ability to provide outstanding customer service.
Ability to work independently and under time constraints.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Above and Beyond Qualifications:
Airframe and Powerplant Certification w/ Inspection Authorization.
Experience maintaining Robinson helicopters.
Team Management experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical labor, such as climbing or kneeling.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
