Why build in resorts days to your Disney vacation? 🌺🍹✨
This day was all about slowing down… Disney style! 😉 After 2 park days, I planned a pool day—and honestly, every Disney vacation needs one.
While my littlest napped, my older daughter and I snuck off to Trader Sam’s 🍹🌴. A little tropical atmosphere, some fun drinks, and plenty of Disney personality made this such a fun experience.
We took on a Hidden Mickey scavenger hunt around the Polynesian, which was a fun way to explore the Great Ceremonial House.
And because we needed a souvenir we could actually wear, we made tie-dye Mickey shirts! 🎨👕 Such a fun activity and a great way to bring a little Disney magic home with us.
Dinner was at Tambu Lounge—the noodles, pot stickers, and ribs were all a hit! 🌺
And then… fireworks! 🎆 We watched the sky light up before heading back to the pool for a nighttime swim.
Because apparently the best way to end a Disney day is with fireworks + pool time + tired, happy kids. ❤️
✨ Another reminder that you don’t have to be in a park every day to have an AMAZING Disney vacation. Resort days are where some of the best memories happen!

Disney with a 3-year-old AND a 9-year-old… 🎢
This trip was such a reminder that the same Disney vacation can look completely different depending on the ages of your kids.
My 3 year old had her first experiences with rides like Soarin’ and Slinky Dog, while my 9 year old was ready for TRON.
One wanted naps. One wanted to keep going.
And that’s why I don’t believe in cookie-cutter Disney itineraries.
When I plan a vacation, I’m thinking about who is actually going on it—not just which parks you want to visit.
Because the best Disney vacation is the one that works for YOUR family. ❤️

Is Character dining right for your family’s Walt Disney World trip? Some things to consider
👧 Your child may not enjoy meeting characters.Some little ones love seeing Mickey from a distance but become shy or overwhelmed when characters come to the table.
⏰ It’s a bigger time commitment. Character meals typically take longer than a quick-service meal since each character visits your table. If your priority is maximizing rides, this may not fit your plans.
💰 It’s a splurge. You’re paying for both the meal and the character experience. If character interactions aren’t a priority, you may get more value from another dining option.
🍽️ The menu matters. Don’t choose a restaurant just for the characters—make sure the food appeals to your family, too!
📸 There are other ways to meet characters. You can often see favorite Disney friends in the parks, at cavalcades, parades, or dedicated meet-and-greet locations without booking a character meal.
The best Disney vacation isn’t about doing everything—it’s about choosing the experiences that fit your family’s interests, budget, and pace.
That’s one of my favorite parts of helping families plan their trips: creating an itinerary that’s personalized to them, not just checking off a list of “must-dos.”
