Once numbering in the hundreds, fewer than 50 traditional sporting camps remain today. Keeping these special places going takes hard work, resilience, and guests who understand just how valuable they are.

Sporting camps like Tim Pond Camps have been a part of the fabric of the Maine woods for, give or take, the past 150 years. By the early 1900s, Maine was home to some 300 such camps, mostly scattered across western and northern parts of the state, welcoming eager sportsmen. Today, fewer than 50 are still operating.
