IMVELO SAFARIS IN HWANGE NATIONAL PARK, ZIMBABWE - MAKING A DIFFERENCE TO LOCAL COMMUNITIES!
Hwange National Park offers exceptional game viewing year-round and is one of the best parks in Africa for diversity of wildlife. Within Zimbabwean parks, the largest species diversity and populations of sable, cheetah, wild dog, and lion. The park is also home to approximately 46,000 elephants!
For over two decades, Imvelo Safari Lodges have nurtured symbiotic relationships between man and nature toward their belief that tourism, conservation, and community can be mutually beneficial. Imvelo Safaris is deeply involved in the local community with many incredible projects, which you can help support, such as:
⭐ Providing clean drinking water infrastructure supporting 16,000 people and their livestock
⭐ Establishing the Community Rhino Conservation Initiative, which has been financing the local Ngamo Clinic since 2022
⭐ The Annual Smile & See Safari provides free dental and eye care to rural villagers and has treated more than 36,000 patients!
⭐ Support to schools in the shape of infrastructure (single and double classroom blocks, teachers’ cottages, boreholes, vegetable gardens), classroom furniture, and textbooks (partnering with Hwange Schools Project), teaching assistants’ salaries, school bursaries and uniforms, and workshops.
⭐ Providing 3.5 million school lunches to children over the past 12 years!
Imvelo supports communities with food aid, trialing drought-resistant seeds, and setting up irrigated and fenced communal gardens.
