Fifteen miles south of downtown Portland lies a little oasis called Langdon Farms Golf Club, a premiere golf course, restaurant and event venue. Langdon Farms strives to maintain their reputation as one of the best public golf courses in the state, and local, regional and national golf writers have all recognized them as a ‘truly unique golf experience’ as a result.

Langdon Farms Golf Club is also home to the local-favorite, Langdon's Grill, an american-style family restaurant, bar and grill serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The dining area is a casual and friendly atmosphere, and the menu is always featuring seasonal specials.

They are also proud to host many weddings, corporate meetings, retirement parties, anniversaries, and school fundraisers in the unique Red Shed event venue along with two separate indoor events spaces- the Gallery, and the Loft!

Emma Wagner Giesy was born in 1833. At 19 years old, she accompanied her husband and eight other men on a 2000-mile journey in search of a new home base for Dr. Wilhelm Keil's Christian communal colony, which was solely located in Missouri at the time.

Emma's incredible journey with this group as they endured the trials and tribulations of their new life in the Pacific Northwest is captured beautifully in author Jane Kirkpatrick's series of novels, "Emma of Aurora". These stories are derived from original letters and other family records, many of which were found in the archives of the Old Aurora Colony Museum. Also at the museum are a number of personal items once belonging to Emma, like a sewing machine and several quilts.

Reading these books is a great way to learn about Aurora's beginnings, but did you know that you can walk the footsteps Emma took as she moved about town over 150 years ago? You can, with the Walk With Emma self-guided tour. No need for any prior knowledge to enjoy this experience!

This easy walking tour covers about four blocks through the historic downtown Aurora area. You can start at the Old Aurora Colony Museum, where staff will give you a great introduction, or you can simply grab a brochure and get started. Your journey will take you through the post office, the Aurora state bank, the Aurora Pioneer Hotel, and over 20 additional locations. Many locations on the tour are now business and open and welcome for viewing. Private homes, however, are not open for viewing. However, if you're interested in a more in-depth historical tour, contact the Old Aurora Colony Museum which even allows you to take a peek into Emma's actual home!
