Formed in 1987, the Aurora Area Convention an

d Visitors Bureau is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and marketing the area as a visitor destination. The goal of the Aurora Area CVB is to enhance the economic and environmental well-being of our region compromised of 10 municipalities: Aurora, Batavia, Big Rock, Hinckley, Montgomery, North Aurora, Plano, Sandwich, Sugar Grove, and Yorkville. The Aurora Area CVB aggressively promotes the area as an overnight destination and increases visitor awareness and expenditures for the maximum economic benefit of our tourism partners.

Get ready to raise a stein Sturdy Shelter Brewing’s 4th Annual Oktoberfest is returning to downtown Batavia September 10th-13th 🍻

Celebrate with traditional Bavarian music, dancing, sing-alongs, warm pretzels, German-inspired eats, and Sturdy Shelter’s Shelterfest Munich-Style Fest Bier. Feeling competitive? Bring your strength to the state-qualifying stein-holding contest or show off your festive flair in the costume contest. Prost! 🥨🎶

Saturday brings live music from The Happy Wanderers Band from 3–6 p.m., while the state-qualifying men’s and women’s stein-holding competition takes place Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Sturdy Shelter Brewing, 10 S. Shumway Ave., along the Fox River.
