Mormon Row, Grand Teton National Park — Then vs. Now. 💔

The bottom photo is one I took during my visit to Mormon Row in Wyoming. The historic barn, the beautiful mountains, and the natural landscape made this one of my favorite places to photograph.

The top photo shows what the area looks like now, with construction underway and paving being added.

I understand that improvements are sometimes necessary for accessibility and to accommodate visitors, but seeing the landscape change like this makes me sad.

Part of what makes Mormon Row so special is its rustic beauty and the feeling of stepping back in time. The old barns against the magnificent Tetons are such an iconic piece of American history.

I’m so thankful I got to experience and photograph it the way I remember it. ❤️

What do you think? Are improvements worth the changes to the historic landscape, or should places like this be preserved as naturally as possible?
