BreweryTowns Travel Company There are nearly 9,000 breweries in the country... the time to start exploring them is NOW! We are Cori and Matt!

We enjoy traveling around the country with our dog (Texas) and our cat (Mabel) to explore different craft beer scenes. Our friends and family would hear about these hoppy excursions and ask us to plan their next trip. We had a blast researching, crafting, and presenting them with a brewery-centric itinerary for their destination location. Then, we had an idea to expand this idea into a company - a

travel company for beer lovers! At BreweryTowns Travel Company, we hope that we can help you create memorable experiences, too! Designed with your interests and desires in mind, our personalized itineraries are the perfect blueprint for discovering new and delicious craft beer. Our two current offerings can plan a Getaway or Roadtrip that provides you with a schedule for hourly exploration. We very much look forward to working with you soon! Cheers,

Vibe: 54
The vibe of Austin is undeniably entertaining! The music scene can rival that of Nashville. Lady Bird Park is one of the best city parks in the country. The University of Texas campus is simply beautiful. Nearing one million residents, Austin is all of these things and so much more! In reality, its vibe number should never be this low - but thinking of Austin as ONLY a college town would be doing it an injustice. Admittedly, most of life does revolve around the Longhorns and creates an energetic atmosphere. ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT Austin will be ranked higher next time! be

Beer: 6
The beer scene in Austin has to one of the Top 15 in the entire country! Out towards the Hill Country, there is and its huge plot of awesomeness. Then, you really have your pick. Like sours? Try . Our #24 College BreweryTown is Gainesville, Florida!

Home to the University of Florida 🐊

Vibe: 29
Gainesville is a beautiful southern town with charming architecture and earnest hospitality. The college hub is a perfect size (with just around 150,000 people) to support both the sprawling University of Florida grounds and a thriving downtown district. There is plenty to do within the confines of town, but the swampland of Florida is not too far off either. In many ways, Gainesville is the best of multiple worlds!

Beer: 33
Now to the breweries. There are a couple taprooms off of I-75 - and - that are a bit outside of town, but are still definitely worth checking out. Closer to the action, , , and . Once again, the balance seems to be perfect in Gainesville between the number of breweries and the geographic location / population. They certainly seem to know what they are doing down there!

Our #25 College BreweryTown is Manhattan, Kansas!

Home to Kansas State University 🐆

Vibe: 15
It is hard to compare a town like Manhattan to a city like Durham. The geography, demographics, and culture could not be more different. But we shall try! Manhattan is about a two hour drive from Kansas City - giving it a true small town feel. With about 50,000 residents and a major college campus, there is still plenty of life on this prairie. Poyntz Ave is the place to check out some local businesses downtown, while a short drive away Moro Street has plenty to keep the students busy!

Beer: 49
There may not be many options in Manhattan for brews, but there are some solid ones. To start, is the place. It was once the largest brewhouse in Kansas and has been rated as one of the best beer bars in the country. Currently, the brand and 11,000 sqft brewpub are owned by outside companies, but the name and location are still a vital part of the community. A couple buildings down is and across the river is - both great locally owned operations!

Our #26 College BreweryTown is Durham, North Carolina!

Home to Duke University 👹

Vibe: 48
Tucked away in Durham is Duke University. It is not too far from downtown, but its peaceful and idyllic setting could not be further away. Durham is part of the historic To***co Road and the modern day Research Triangle - meaning that old meets new in a lot of places here. It makes for a burgeoning city with some unique architecture and a bustling feel that encompasses way more than campus!

Beer: 18
The beer in Durham is GOOD. In downtown, there is , , and, of course, the that is based inside the historic minor league ballpark. There are also some impressive out-of-town friends that have setup satellite locations in town: , , and . All in all, you cannot go wrong stepping into a taproom in Durham!

Our #27 College BreweryTown is Minneapolis, Minnesota!

Home to the University of Minnesota 🪵

Vibe: 55
The University of Minnesota is located in the biggest metro in the state (by a wide margin). Of course, that metro is the Twin Cities region. Campus is actually right in the middle of the two! It is split from downtown Minneapolis by the Mississippi River and just blocks away from the border of St. Paul. Overall, a beautiful campus - but just not the main attraction in town.

Beer: 10
This is no hyperbole, but one of the actual main attractions in town just may be a taproom. Blocks away from the university, is one of the best places in the state for beer, food, and live music. Surrounding them is a motley crew of breweries that create one great (and often under appreciated) beer scene. Make sure to check out , , , , , and among many others!

Our #28 College BreweryTown is Syracuse, New York!

Home to Syracuse University ✴️

Vibe: 36
Syracuse is a unique entry on this list. It is very much equal parts college town (they share the same name after all!) and independent metro (with a population nearly 150,000). It borders the tranquility of the Finger Lakes, while also acting as a hub for various industries of Upstate NY. As such, things are fairly spread out here with lots of different vibes running each neighborhood section!

Beer: 31
The beer scene is lively here with nearly double digits breweries. It seems right on the button for its upstate location and strong drinking tradition! The most patronized taprooms in town are probably , , and . But others like , , and help round out most of the impressive lineup of beer makers.

Our #29 College BreweryTown is Corvallis, Oregon!

Home to Oregon State University 🦫

Vibe: 18
Corvallis just edged out Morgantown for this spot. It is located between Eugene (who we will see later on this list) and Salem, while also not being very far from the Pacific coastline. Downtown hugs the Willamette River with campus just a light walk away. Oregon is a beautiful state and Corvallis is absolutely no exception!

Beer: 52
Need a great drinking town in Oregon? Look no further than Corvallis! A few breweries complement their excellent lineup of beer gardens and bars. With two popular locations, is a great introduction to local beer. For some solid grub, has you covered. Add a to a couple up and coming brewhouses in town and you have the makings of a VERY fun weekend.

Our #30 College BreweryTown is Morgantown, West Virginia!

Home to West Virginia University 🥾

Vibe: 17
The Mountain Mamas snuck into the Top 30 riding on the back of an excellent small town vibe! With the campus sitting on a hill a bit outside of downtown, the trek to many bars and restaurants can be a strenuous (but very doable) one on foot. Morgantown supports the Mountaineers with all of their might, meaning any trip to town includes the showing of plenty of WVU pride.

Beer: 54
The amount of options in Morgantown align with the town’s location (somewhat rural) and population (on the modest side - around 30,000). There is, of course, a location in town, as well as a beer hall that serves as the taproom for . Across the river in the Westover neighborhood, is now providing brews that pair well with their incredible views!

Our next College BreweryTown special collection is a selection of universities based in smaller neighborhoods of big cities! Makes sense, right?

Evanston, Illinois 👾
Evanston - home to Northwestern - is a suburb just 30 minutes up the shores of Lake Michigan from downtown Chicago. The campus is located right along the water and is a truly beautiful property that values education above all else. As for breweries, and a outpost reside in town and allow beer drinkers great options without heading into the bustling metro.

Palo Alto (Stanford), California 🌲
Technically, Stanford University is located in Stanford, California - but many will connect it with the town of Palo Alto (which is just a 20 minute jaunt from San Jose). Campus is magnificent with its mission-style sandstone buildings and mountainous backdrop. The brewery scene? Well, there is nothing (currently) in Palo Alto with the nearest taproom belonging to in neighboring Menlo Park.

College Park, Maryland 🐢
An easy 30-minute trip from Washington D.C. is the University of Maryland. Campus is sprawling and in a lot of ways operates as its own little community. There are no breweries in College Park proper, but is within shouting distance of campus with Hyattsville’s also a close option.

Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts 🦅
Boston College sits in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Newton, which itself is about a 30-minute drive from the sites and sounds of Boston. Campus has a quieter feel and hugs a small reservoir to provide a unique setting for higher education. Unfortunately, both Newton and Chestnut Hill are surprisingly void of any breweries. In nearby Brighton, is probably the closest taproom.

School is cool!

Our #31 College BreweryTown is Tallahassee, Florida!

Home to the Florida State University 🪓

Vibe: 43
The Florida Panhandle is a special place, as is its capital: Tallahassee! It is a larger city for a standard college town (pop: 200,000+), but still parties hard around the Seminoles. Campus is just blocks from downtown and not too far from the trendy midtown area either. Things do get rural outside of town and towards the bay, so Tallahassee is a great hub for local craft beer lovers!

Beer: 26
The southern capital city does have a half dozen taproom options. The hip has a couple spots around town where the vibes are just as enjoyable as the brews. Downtown brewhouses for , , , and an outpost for make for a fun afternoon hopping around and trying different beers. Outside of the bustle of town is and - both of which offer chill locations with welcoming atmospheres!

Our #32 College BreweryTown is Salt Lake City, Utah!

Home to the University of Utah 🦬

Vibe: 57
Salt Lake City is a truly beautiful place! The metro is wedged between the Great Salt Lake and the Wasatch Mountains. Campus lies where the city meets the wilderness to create one of the most spectacular backdrops. Downtown is thriving since the capital city (and its surrounding burbs) is the main hub for the entire state. Part of the excitement includes a burgeoning craft beer scene!

Beer: 15
Salt Lake City is not geographically large, so a good portion of its breweries are centrally located. Sounds perfect, right? Duh, it does! The most popular are probably , , , , and . Heard of them? Of course, you have! But remember, these are just the tip of the iceberg when discovering SLC beer.

Our #33 College BreweryTown is Cincinnati, Ohio!

Home to the University of Cincinnati 🐈

Vibe: 60
Again, the vibe is so low because there is so much going on in Cincinnati that the university often gets overlooked. There are several streets around campus that are hopping with college hangouts and the excitement of downtown is not that far away either. But the Bearcats are just one facet of the cityscape and not the main attraction like some of our other towns!

Beer: 12
Cincinnati has to be considered in the conversation for one of the best beer cities in the entire country. There are so many quality brewhouses that even making a must visit list is difficult! We will mentioned .artifact for its beer and church taproom, for its many awards for being the nation’s best tiny craft brewery, and for its distribution prowess and historic brewhouse. Did we miss any great ones? Yup, so go visit for yourself!
