One of the things I hear most often is:
"My kids would love it...but what would I do?"

The truth is, Disney Cruise Line was designed with the entire family in mind.

Who is Universal Kids Resort really for?

After spending the day exploring Universal Kids Resort, I kept coming back to one question: Who will enjoy this park the most?

Here are four things I think families should know before visiting.

👨‍👩‍👧 Best for Ages 9 and Under
Universal Kids Resort was thoughtfully designed with younger families in mind. Attractions like Jurassic World, Bello's Bayou Adventure, and Swings Over Del Mar also offer fun experiences that older elementary-aged children, parents, and grandparents can enjoy together. Many attractions do have height requirements. Rider Swap is available for families with little ones who are not quite tall enough yet.

🌤️ Designed for Texas Families
The park includes plenty of thoughtful touches. Covered queues, shaded seating, and covered ride loading areas provide welcome relief from the Texas heat. Toddler potty seats that flip down and child-height sinks were thoughtful additions I genuinely appreciated.

💦 Plan Around Water Play
The Minions, Shrek, and SpongeBob lands all offer great ways to cool off. I recommend enjoying the dry attractions during the morning and saving the water play for the warmest part of the day.

🏖️ Make This a Destination
I recommend planning at least two park days rather than treating Universal Kids Resort as a quick stop. The resort sits just steps from the park, making midday breaks simple and convenient. Two park days give families the opportunity to explore at a relaxed pace, revisit favorite attractions, and enjoy the water play areas without feeling rushed.

This was only my first visit, and I have more to share.

Texas parents of younger kids… you may want to lean in for this one 👀

Universal Kids Resort in Frisco officially opens July 1, and vacation packages are now available.

This brand-new park was designed specifically for younger kids from day one, with lands inspired by favorites like Shrek, SpongeBob, Trolls, Minions, Puss in Boots, and more — plus an on-site hotel with early entry perks.

For families who have ever thought, “My kid is still too little for the bigger parks,” this is an amazing option much closer to home!

Today I had the opportunity to tour all 3 Disneyland Resort hotels during the Disneyland 70th Celebration — and they each have such a different feel.

✨ Pixar Place Hotel = modern, playful, Pixar energy
✨ Disneyland Hotel = classic Disney nostalgia (and the original Disneyland Resort hotel!)
✨ Grand Californian = cozy luxury with incredible atmosphere

Behind the scenes this week, I helped a client secure a great MSC sailing, and it was one of those bookings where the timing really worked in their favor.

MSC is a little different from what many Texas cruisers are used to. It has more of a European-style feel, and as it continues to grow its presence with sailings that are easy to access from here, it is becoming a really interesting option to watch.

If a cruise has been on your mind, I am happy to see if this could be a good fit.
