The town serves as a gateway to the Beaver Creek Ski Resort and features world-class hotels, restaurants and shopping as well as multitude of recreational opportunities, special events, parks, open space and trails.

📣 Avon is proud to announce the launch of its new polystyrene recycling program, making Avon the first municipality in Colorado to offer this service! ♻

Commonly known as Styrofoam™ recycling, this initiative is made possible by a grant-funded polystyrene densifier. The innovative program is expected to significantly divert the volume of hard-to-recycle polystyrene waste from the Eagle County Landfill.

The program accepts clean and white packaging foam from:
• Televisions
• Appliances
• Computers (electronics)
• Furniture
• Foam coolers

Only clean and dry foam is accepted—no dirt, labels, or tape. When in doubt, throw it out!

♻️ Avon is excited to announce the re-opening of the Avon Recycling Center this Friday, March 14 after extensive improvements, including a new cardboard compactor, larger recycling containers, catwalks for improved access and new signage with clear directions for recycling. ♻️

Avon will also become the first municipality in Colorado to offer Styrofoam recycling! This initiative is made possible by a Styrofoam densifier funded through a Colorado Recycling Resources Economic Opportunity grant from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
